Awesome 👏 can you do one of the usndp players next or which one do you like out of the draft eligible players? Connolly reminds me of Kent Johnson or Zegras in their draft year which is why I wasn’t as high on him but he might be a step ahead with his nastiness.

He's definitely a significantly better skater than Zegras was imo. But I see the comparison. I don't think that outside of Eiserman there's another usntdp player that justifies a full scouting report. Those videos are just too long to make that I have to be very selective. I really really like Teddy Stiga and I thought maybe I could try to make mini scouting reports for players like that. Like a 4-5 minute speed run with no fluff, no categories, just clips and a condensed scouting report. I might experiment with that.

Honestly my 4 main target for Detroit at 15 are in preferential order : 1) Helenius (if available) 2) Brandsegg-Nygard 3) Greentree 4) Connelly but hesitation whoever is 3 and 4 between Greentree and Connelly because that Connelly kid is very exciting too

if you want some insight on the posture, youre mostly right. when it comes to side to side movement, he does tend to 'bend' at the waist and hips a little but rather than 'lean.' Seems like something that gets sorted out with increased core strength but his/shoulder/ribs/hip/knee should be alligned in about a 45 degree angle from the ice when he is crossing over. sometimes he looks like he is letting his ribs and shoulder collapse over his hip. It's a nitpick but maybe helpful to you and others reading.

Only thing that I don't like about his game is how he seems to "switch off" after making a play. It's like he skates around creating space and opportunities for his teammates, then passes them the puck and seem to think "now you go and do your thing" and waits for something to react to. Instead of having a plan beyond getting rid of the puck or the instincts to move himself into a scoring area, create space through his movement, or to preempt a turnover, etc. Glad to hear someone else say they see a lot of Raymond in him. He looks just like a faster but less collaborate version of Raymond to me.

I'm happy to hear that now you follow what your eyes are telling to you. Have the courage of your opinions, it's what we wants. Very good discernment on Connelly, I agree with you 100%, on my list he's just after Macklin. If you never draft a defenceman in the top 5 (and some teams do), he is in the top 5 for sure.

Why would you never pick a d in the top 5?
@genestdaniel9882
@genestdaniel9882 Ай бұрын
@@italian1ist In term of probability, the place where you have the higher probablilities to get a constant and prolific players wich can give you a constant offensive production for years (Rantanen, Draisatl, etc) its in the top five. Their production will help you to bring your team in the playoff for many years. And where you can get franchise players its in the top 2 (Lemieux, Crosby, etc.). Dont do any rebuilt if you dont plan to draft in the first two spot for 2-3 years, its like to miss the big thing by few. Chicago are proven right actually, SanJose, Columbus or Arizona are not getting it. Usually a good offensive amateur d-men will be ''coached'' soon in his pro development, coach will repeat them that they're still d-men, they need to defend! So you can see a lot of promising d-men in the top five that never translate their offensive in their nhl carreer, or maybe their first two year, and after they are staying in the 30-40 pts zone. So if you look back in the past you can see guys like Ekblad, Byram, Power, Zach Bogosian, Hanifin, Juolevi, etc etc. They are still exceptions, but D-men that can get you a steady 30-40 points per season with a steady defensive, you can get them anywhere in the draft, even in the seventh round, but elite forwards, game changers, thats in the top 5 that you need to get your chances.

Connelly appears to have the tools to become a star player (80 to 100 point player). Some teams will likely feel quite bad not having drafted him in 4 to 5 years...same for Michkov. Connelly should be a top 10 pick but will likely fall to 15 to 20...time will tell !!!

He shared on Snapchat a picture of a swastika made of lego that his friend made like 2 or 3 years ago. He since been doing some community work in a few group or something to make up for it. There's also reports been reports of bullying and racial slurs but there's no proof of it. Neither by leagues or coach or friends. There's reports of parents taking their kids out of his team because of the way he acted. Again, there's no proof for that either. But he's been on like 5 different teams since 2019 which is rarely a good sign but could be BS like it could be all true. That's why I'm evaluating him like nothing happened because I can't investigate those stories, I haven't talked to him or his coaches and won't condemn him for a picture he took at 15 I think. On the other hand, if it's all true than he doesn't deserve to be drafted 🤷 we'll see

Teenage boys do dumb shit. If he actually shows contrition and is trying to get out in front of questionable mistakes as a young man, he deserves a chance to show he can grow and learn. Everyone deserves second chance. (Logan Mailloux) Well....most people. (That Mitchell kid that the Coyotes drafted a couple years back is from my hometown....he's kind of a pud whack and has done some pretty bad stuff)

@@bluechipprospect Hockey is an intimidation and competition sport (outside and inside the teams) and as he was the best player in all the teams he's been, he can be targeted for sure, he had to learn how to defend himself. He's still a kid and I've watched many recent interview of the kid and he's really mature now and he have shown a really good education. I don't believe one minute those small talks and who never draws a swastica? For the team change, that's a ridiculous point, look to that carefully, he changed because he reached a higher level every year! Not even one team change in the same league. This is a good sign!
