Sure, a lot of us knew The Daily Show prior to that - but this show's global audience grew exponentially as a result of Trevor being the host. Honestly, one of the reasons I liked Trevor so much was because he wasn't American. I am, but I'm neither Republican nor Democrat, agree with both on some things and disagree with both on some things. I loved how he was able to make fun of both parties the way he did. I think most Americans would have too hard of a time separating their own political views out to be able to pull off the balance Trevor did. And even when it was clear which way he leaned, it wasn't threatening because again, he wasn't American.
