@drops2cents2603 жыл бұрын
Well, that's one of the main differences between being young and being old: When you're young, 0530 sounds like a remotely reasonable time to consider calling it a night and going home on saturday, whereas when you're old, it's just the second time you'll get up during the night because you have to use the bathroom. :-) And just for the record: I've got roughly 19 months until I'll turn 50, and I have to admit that things have changed: when I was about half my current age, I was a quite energetic (and slightly tooo gung-ho) young drill sergeant who drank his boys under the table, slept for 2 hours, washed down two aspirins with a cup of coffee to counter the headache and was ready to go. Whereas nowadays, I'm an A&E nurse for ten years who needs at least 48 hours to recuperate after two night shifts.

The start of Trevor Noah’s was rocky, for sure. Jon Stewart left some pretty darn big shoes to fill. Trevor just had to be Trevor, and the audience needed to grieve at the loss of Jon, so there was a period of awkward adjustment. Trevor’s comedy and his ability are awesome to say the least. Stephen, on the other hand, already had his established character and he just branched out from there and broadened his scope and it was an easier adjustment. Plus he had the boost of Stewart visits. Both of these comedians are national treasures in their own right, and we’re lucky to have them to cut through the bull crap and level the field of information so that the stuff you know is crap- but not why exactly it’s crap- is more easily digested. These guys hold a mirror up to the government and show us and them just how crazy everything is right now.

Seth Mayers also has similar power of attention; his 'A Closer Look' are equally witty in a differing yet balancing accompanying manner too IMHO, imagine all 3 together; it;d be both hell and a riot of them and their staffs pulling it off, even once, but oh jeez, 'The Late Show Triumvirate' each doing aspects of gags, banter, impressions, and weird news developments segmented or together..

Colbert is such an amazing person! His concern about the new show is he didn't want a failed "new show" to invalidate the work all of the people that helped him on the old show actually did...If true, that's one of the only times someone in his position spent any time worried about the people that worked on the show making him famous and successful... What an amazing person!!!
