One of the best passers I've ever seen. Simple. We've seen a lot of skill put on display at the WJHC, but we haven't quite seen anyone like Trevor Zegras before. There are players in the NHL who are gifted passers as well. Take a look at Nicklas Backstrom, Leon Draisaitl, Joe Thornton and Henrik Sedin when he played. Washington’s Nicklas Backstrom has to be the best passer I’ve ever seen. If I had to compare Zegras to any player, I would say it would be Backstrom. His vision while cycling and forechecking seems second-to-none. It’s as if he has eyes at the back of his head. One of the best pure passers we have seen at the WJHC in a while. His play replicates that of Backstrom’s to a great extent. Backstrom is more of an “outlet pass off the boards to a winger in the neutral zone” and “great saucer pass archer,” while as Zegras is more of a “read the play - find the seam” passer. While Backstrom has shown flashes of this in the past, Zegras excels consistently.

Looking back, he's too precious & absolutely believed the hype surrounding him. In the nhl he's not made such a big impression Vs men, but hopefully & its now 2024, injury took most of his season & he seems overwhelmed but he'll turn it round & knuckle down.
