Canadian phenom Connor Bedard strung together the best scoring performance at a world junior hockey championship in 20 years, leading his country to its 20th gold medal! Here are some of Bedard's best plays of the tournament

I can't imagine the pressure off ice and on this kid must face. The best highlight is his gold medal post-game interview where he didn't want to talk about what he accomplished, he wanted to talk about what the team accomplished. A class act already at 17, and a credit to his parents and hockey organizations. (rumour has it Slovakia is still looking for 4 jocks)

Yet to see someone so good at hockey while flying through the air. He scored a goal with the Pats in his first or second game ever where he Bobby Orr'd the crease and golfed the puck mid air as it bounced off the ice into the top corner. I swear I heard a moose jaw fan scream like someone had been shot out of pure disbelief lmfao.

One thing I like about Bedard is the amount of grit he has. Crosby is similar, both are highly talented players who aren't afraid to make grunt level plays. Crosby recently went feet first into the boards to keep a puck in the offensive zone and Bedard at the world juniors dove to sweep the puck onto his teammate's stick. These types of plays are what separate the greatest from the great.
@lunarbunny3021 Жыл бұрын
Yet he’s still very humble, which is something I always admired with Crosby. Hopefully he carries that humility into the NHL
@invictusanimi Жыл бұрын
You mention that time Bedard dove to pass the puck. Even more magnificent was the defensive dive when his stick was purposely upside down to knock away the puck on a breakaway. I rewinded to that 10X, and I am still speechless.

Heard a lot of hype about this kid, but after watching these highlights, I think it's safe to say it's not overstated. Excited to see how he'll do in the NHL. Still pretty young, but these highlights are reminiscent of the Jack Hughes prospective highlights to me. You never know how they'll do off the bat if they join and start playing so young, but I think he's got a bright future.

This kid holds the stick the proper way. His left elbow is out giving more flexibility and quicker reactions with the puck. Turn pivot shoot much quicker than the arm against the body. When the arm is against the body it restricts passing shooting etc. some players to pass to there off side will need to turn there entire body in the direction of the pass. Amazing hockey player.

calm down. Bedard is literally Nail Yakapov 2.0, his goals just currently outshine his size and relatively poor decision making right now, just like Nails did. hes far more likely to flop than be great. anyone who follows hockey deeply(podcasts etc/outside of mainstream media hype) know this, and talk about it daily.
@ynotsammy Жыл бұрын
@@b3n751 I mean with the way he played in this tourny you can't just excuse the potential this 17 year old has.
