@@vladraduandrei5227 In American English sometimes the word "kid" isn't just used to refer to people under 18, but can refer to young adults in their late teens/early 20's. So while "college kids" might be 18-22, which is technically an adult, they're colloquially referred to as "kids" in a lot of parts of the US

This reminds me of a guy named Billy that I went to high school with in the 90's, I ran into him the other day riding a bike thru town (since he doesn't have a car and never has a job more than about a month) anyways he was telling me about how he kicked some guy's ass but somehow it's just not as cool now that he's 41 years old. I mean bragging about beating someone up is rather juvenile, but what's wrong with riding a bike? A lot of people think America's obsession with vehicles is detrimental to the planet. Also, it's better to be kind to those you consider less fortunate. I'm sure there's someone who considers your achievements insignificant and would label you a failure.

The only reason i accepted to move 2k miles away to live with my sister was to avoid becoming this guy. I knew living with her would force to become something. A horrible 1.5 years where i had work night shifts for $15 an hour and a day job for $13. All to pay for everything while she attended collage. It really made me into a better person that no longer kept reliving the “good old days” while his peers made a live for themselves. 4 years later I return to my hometown transferring my new skills to make an honest $28 with promises of opportunities in the future. It might sound corny but by god does it feel good.

I used to hate those type of guys back in high school, but now that I’m currently in college, I feel sorry for them. After we graduated, they didn’t go to college nor find any work. All they do is sit at their parents home and goof off and waste their lives. Some of them became teenage dads because they got some of the cheerleaders pregnant. A few of them actually go back to the high school we went to and try to talk to the students there. It’s truly sad thing to see.

This is totally a guy I know. Last person in the group from high school that is still in town. Has been going to community college for five years without earning as much as an associate’s and failing half his classes, but keeps saying that he will become a psychologist. He chases 18 year olds and cried for a year after the last one left him for a guy her own age. He still can’t be bothered to get a drivers license and asks everyone for a ride. Tries to bum booze and weed off anyone he can. Hasn’t held a job for more than a few months. Eats at chain restaurants & fast food more than he does at home, and thinks Dave & Busters is the best bar ever. Talks nonstop about the “good old days” and how he would have been D1 QB without the freshman concussion. It’s pretty sad, but he refuses help and idk how he got like this.

That's kinda scary. I found a town / city that's not toxic and wanna live in for a long time. I lived around multiple towns and cities and I wanna finally stay in one spot for a while. I work at a grocery store part time but pursuing my passion for KZbin vids (currently make some side money) have a side gig and overall happy with 31k a year without college for now. I met some people who never left and it can be scary but I seen some who are super happy and satisfied too. It just depends on the individual. It's really bad in small towns when it comes to people never leaving, I do know that.

My friend stayed in our hometown and never left while I did. He has a beautiful family, a good paying job and he's infinitely happier than I am, especially since he has the time to go to the local bar and hang out with his work buddies. It's all about perspectives. what could be seen as a sign of failure to some could be a sign of perfection to others. My friend is happy, and finding happiness is what truly matters in life.

It isn't about the geography. Many people live successfully in the town they grew up in with legit careers. He's making fun of people who never matured beyond high school and drift aimlessly.

Trevor I hope that you know that you unironically helped alot of us get off our asses and actually try harder with life by making this video. Myself included. After seeing this a few times, I took a good look in the mirror and saw that I WAS on the road to becoming this guy and so I had to make a change. Now I moved out of my hometown and make more money at a job I’ve had for 2 years.

Fucking A. You already know when you get that out of the blue phone call from someone who you haven't talked to in years it's probably a pyramid scheme. "Yeah bro. $400 you get a kit and if you sell all cans you keep 80%. You even get bonuses to sign people up and you get a cut of everything they sell." Yeah, no thanks.
