Dave sounds like your running a low head speed. What percentage is your Tail gain?. What is you blade pitch. 11.5 or 12 or 13. Im sorry i am kinda new to this hobby so i apologize for asking so many questions.

recommended, but this video is about experiment, not all people want to have crazy RPMs so it's good to have such videos with less voltage batteries, so we can see how it works :)

You can do it if you use tail parts from old belt driven trex600e (it has same boom size) - also you need to change autorotation gear to match 40t gear to pulley from trex600...

@@damijanlikar1973 oh,. interesting, thanks for the info! Though, what if i will not find old parts, i guess it will be possible to design and 3d print tail box and gear? Or there are other things to take into consideration?

tail box can be used from trex550x you just have to remove the housing part where TT front umbrella gear is mounted, for the tail rear mount housing it could be a bit tricky to find new part, but probably used one is better option, tail shaft with pulley and front 40t gear with pulley for belt are still available i think... Autorotation gear 180t is also available in some stores (i am from EU) but if you are from USA - you have even better part stores there.

@@damijanlikar1973 i'm from EU too, and yes from what i saw they got greater options in USA and even cheaper, heh. Currently i'm planning to buy T-Rex 500X or 470LP, and this 550X is rather would be my future option, so i was asking in advance if belt is possible :)

@@cutefoxRC to be honest if you plan to fly 3D with trex550x on high head speed over 2100 rpm then don't change to belt because 550x has 3,85 ratio for tail for high main rotor RPM up to 2500, belt driven system from 600 has 4,5 tail ratio meant for lower headspeed... If you plan to buy new heli and you like belt driven tail why not go directly with newer KIT / heli like TB60 or XLpower 550 or Tron 5.5 or raw580 and similar helicopters?

Battery CAPACITY is measured in mAh, not mA. It means you can pull that many mA of current for 1 hour. mA is a measure of CURRENT (electron flow). You don’t measure speed in PSI or time in feet, so why be lax with units?
