Bloody hell - Marc Bolan rocked it out hard. He was also incredibly intelligent with the use of the double beat between the bongos and drums.

Oh yes!!!!! I was there. Up close of course. Cool so so cool. Santa Monica Civic was such an intimate venue. My favorite, saw so so many bands that were on their 1st US your. Bowie, Queen, T-Rex, Slade and many more. I feel it still.

Just think how big Marc would have been if he was still alive when MTV aired in 1981 he would've been at the top again worldwide ..... now he's at the top playing with John Lennon and George Harrison R.I.P. Marc,

I agree - they didn't quite get it? Although he was huge in some isolated pockets of U.S. But nothing compared to the mania experienced elsewhere in the world. He was HUGE!

True, there's no challenging your comment. However, so were so many other people who grew up from that previous era and left their signature trademark like "Keef" for instance - anyway, I like the way Bolan had his own "fucked-up" personal siganature on R'n'R. (No matter how imperfect.)

Excellent, excellent. I always liked the augmented T.Rex, with Gloria and Pat, and long solos over the more stripped down earlier stuff. Bolan was a superb and distinctive guitarist, very under-rated, mainly because he save the guitar work-outs for live shows and little of it appeared on recordings.
