I don't care how fanboyish this sounds, or obvious like maybe I'm preaching to the choir, but Trey is the best. He's the best ever. I know there are better technicians, even some more creative, but he's like a magician. His devotion to tone and atmosphere and his seemingly eternal childlike enthusiasm for music remind me why I wanted to pluck around like a mook on my own guitar. He was anointed a long time ago and he's lived up to his enthronement with grace and purpose. Legend.

With Each member of Phish, they give in depth of their gear. Exactly where most of their sounds come from during a song or jam. I kind of like not knowing whether the keyboards or the Bass is making certain noises. Been a Head since early 90s, Phish has always been the tightest and most precision jam bands Ive ever heard. My 1st Show back in 1994, I couldn't believe how awesome they sounded LIVE and there were a bunch of Heads around me dancing and diggin it as well! They sounded so crisp and clear, still feeling the bass in your chest. I remember I hadn't heard anyone performing at any event sounding as "studio" as Phish did. All their songs were and still are unique.

I will say for certain though that I really like Trey Anastasio as a person. How can any critic have anything bad to say about him? He's the nicest guy in the world and at 59 he's still very passionate about playing music. Most of these "rig rundown" segments have the guitar tech talking about someone's gear. Trey is more than happy to talk about his stuff himself. He's always smiling, always energetic, and very transparent in interviews. And because of that I like their music more.

My god, his right foot is basically an extra hand. Also - Even Trey can’t believe they played that Soul Planet. Absolute mad scientist and god of tone.

My dad took me for my first time that night. They took Soul Planet for a ride!! Even as a more casual Phish enjoyer, I knew I was experiancing something special in the moment.

Never auction off his guitar. Absolute travesty what has become of Jerry’s guitars. These instruments belong in the museum. Thanks for making my life better every day.✌🏻

I'm so happy that this band exists. And that they've had the success and fan base that they have is amazing. But you almost get the sense that they would still be playing at Nectar's to a small college crowd simply because they enjoy making music. I think that is what is so infectious about Phish.

One of the most engrossing 'documentaries' I've recently watched. I'm not a gearhead yet still was engrossed in the ultra-detailed description then example of all that technology.

Looks like you’re a gizzard fan as well, welcome! The creative output of Phish and King Gizzard and unparalleled in bands that are still playing today. A lot of parallels between Gizz and Phish’s early days in terms of output and touring schedule and fan base.

As someone who doesn’t play guitar, but has been a fan of the band since the 90s, this is one of the coolest videos I’ve ever watched, even though I know almost nothing about any of it, besides what Trey explains. this was super cool to watch, and I just love how excited Trey was throughout this video. The band is killing it and they truly seem happier than ever. I only saw the 3 AC shows, but they were freaking awesome and seeing them on the beach in my home state, was the coolest venue I’ve been too, besides The Gorge. Standing in the ocean up to my knees, watching and listening to the greatest band ever, was truly an epic experience. Even after 128 shows over 3 decades(now 4 I guess) they never cease to amaze me and I can’t wait for whatever my next show will be. Hopefully a north east tour in December?! They are killing it onstage and everything is so fresh and clean right now. It’s a great time to be alive...hope to see y’all soon?!?!?!!!
