Alexxis Rainey even though they recorded it here, it was more than likely mixed and processed with very very expensive equipment in a big studio. Then sent to a mastering engineer to add finishing touches to it. Being an engineer myself I'm pretty sure of it.

The last comment I'll make is the following: If you look closely at 3:19 you'll see it says "Pro tools HD 7" so it's at least 20k and up, depending on how many IO's and accel cards. Add a grand for the monitors, about 3 or 4 for the tft's and Mac pro. Put another 2 in for miscellaneous and you are just under 30k us which is about 20k eur. By those standards your setup is cheap too. Enjoy your day ;)

There is a big misconception about recording. People think big flashy expensive studios is what gives you high quality. These dudes are practically in a dirty ass bedroom and they are making HIGH quality music. They dont have big ass mixing boards with a bunch of flashy hardware, knobs and buttons. All I see in this video is a inexpensive mic, a music program, and there is probably a good preamp in there somewhere. Add that with great editing, and BAM, you could have a smash hit record..

well the great preamp is key in quality, but as far as the vocals being clear and crisp its definitely mixing and placement of mic. you can get vocals in almost anywhere, but some rooms just have bad reflections regardless. you can make due if you know what you are doing though,
