Activision can't keep having their cake and eat it. They cannot continue to treat COD as a Live service game, while at the same time wanting to charge us for a FULL priced game EVERY year. Especially when for the last 4 years the games have had major issues at or right after launch. Either commit to it as a live service, or a yearly title (they can't do both + Season passes and STUFFED with microtransaction like a F2P game). They clearly are not capable of keeping up with the yearly release schedule without major issues. Something has to change. Also rumors of European consumer protection agencies getting involved, starting to surface.

As a prestige Master player on console the two biggest problems I have is on the zombies mode it disconnects crashes freezes so often that it's almost impossible to get a good game in playing with friends. In multiplayer is so rampant with cheaters and impossible killcams that's became almost unplayable.

Regarding the Shock Charge tactic needing extra testing, this is likely because originally it was a bug, but they are now adding code to make it an official feature, which is likely a different code than the previous version as a bug. They'll likely need to make sure it doesn't break anything else, so it makes sense to see that it needs more time to cook

I think what killed my interest in cod was the Archie event mishap. They were wayyyy too hard to find and seemed to have a cap in zombies so you could only get 8-10 per game meanwhile some people started with thousands and instantly completed the event getting an op sniper that regular player had to grind their ass off for or get their ass kicked by it for 2 weeks. They could have released a quick hot fix to make them easier to get or making every item free. It pisses me off when devs release an update then immediately go on holiday instead of waiting a couple days to see what glitches arise because there always will be, major or not.

The livestreaming software for 'some reason' that streamers used was causing programming hiccups. Its crazy how such small things can cause major bugs for players. To be fair games like fortnite also have collabs with creators. Live events. And still manage to push updates often and push fix updates within days. Cod has done quicker updates in the past. They pushed fixes, balances and stuff like that every 2-3 weeks during caldera. So it's not that. I think this is literally a case of the guys up top aren't handing out clearance to apply man hours to fixing issues or clearing the social media team to address issues because they're maximizing their profits and lining their pockets. This feels like the kind of greed that happens right at the end of a company's life. Like they know they're running it into the dirt and they're trying to take every dollar with them.

Another huge VFX issue is on Citadelle, during the Light Elemental Challenge, I’ve had 2 instances where the green orbs are completely invisible, causing me and my friend to have to run around the Dining Hall aimlessly hoping we hit them. We didn’t know until we heard it, or until we saw a small floating green orb travelling to the Orb on the wall. Really, REALLY bad issues lately. I’ve also had issues with my guns visually firing (muzzle flash) when I’m not shooting, and then no muzzle flash when I AM firing. Aether Shroud also QUITE OFTEN doesn’t teleport you forwards when activating. And as you mentioned, the pull out/activation time nerf is GROSSLY SLOW.

As a console player, I can say that on launch I didn’t experience many bugs during my time playing zombies, but as soon as the mid-season patch I have seen/experienced countless bugs. I’ve had VFX be nonexistent, bugs with the Citadel EE, and a massive increase in dev error crashes. Don’t worry though, Treyarch added an event pass and are on top of adding bundles in the shop. I really enjoy this game and I really hope they take this as a rude awakening and keep up the communication. Love your content!

Had no problems with citadel until the patch. Tried to do the EE with a friend and both of us lost glowing/particle effects halfway through the game. Lion mystic orb challenge was near impossible because we couldn't see the glowing orbs so we had to run in circles and hope we got them. Took us five attempts. Boss fight was also brutal because all of his lava attacks were invisible. I love the game but every update or patch feels like one step forward, two steps back. From VA's leaving and another paid battlepass to game breaking bugs galore, I hope the higher ups realize that overworking devs to pump out tracer packs and skins may rake in cash short term but will tank the games future.

The Shadow Rift enemy activation rate increases are both quite big , where percentagewise the special/elite enemy increase is bigger. (15 to 20 is 33%, 5 to 7 is 40%) Personally I would like to see a difference between the special and the elite enemy increase as well. But it is a good first step into the right direction.

My biggest problem is the constant lag and server crash, ALMOST every single zombie game I play lags me out and crashes as soon as I hit rnd 13ish and my brothers game crashes the second he loads into any zombies game so he can ONLY play multiplayer

Honestly I'm just done, I had Bo6 through game pass and the zombies just isn't good enough to keep me around, I have and play waw, bo1, bo2 and bo3 REGULARLY and will continue to do so. On top of the bugs, issues and lack of support zombies players get, this feels like a massive step back from what worked, there's nothing redeeming about this game besides augments but even they still don't feel right, just a good idea executed poorly. I actively feel tired on this game and after getting the majority of the challenges complete and getting to round 115 on all the maps, I feel no desire to replay the maps the same way I do all the prior mentioned games, I still boot up almost every map on older games because they are just so fun with that system, I can't imagine anything more dull than continuing to play Bo6 zombies. This may be a Treyarch title but this isn't the dev team that took pride in their titles, stats and quotas matter far more than player enjoyment, they're far too prideful to admit defeat and revert back to before this all went downhill and maybe learn from people who knew more about what they were doing than them.

I've noticed on Citadel when playing with randoms. The last "stamp zombie" doesn't show up till round 30. Or the "stamp zombie" shows up right after players disconnect from the game. It's frustrating.

Personally, none of this gives me enough of a reason to come back to BO6. The game is flawed on a fundamental level, which cannot by fixed, no matter how many patches there are. Bugs and glitches were never the issue for me. The game just isn't fun. And that's the biggest sin a game can commit. I absolutely despise the current direction Zombies has been heading in since Cold War. Until they go back to their roots and get someone who's passionate about the mode like Jason Blundell to be the director, I ain't coming back.

I took game design classes and (tried) to make a game with a group. weird thing about updates, everything can be fine on your end and work, you'll push the updates to your team, they'll say its fine, you push the updates to the server and it somehow breaks things and doesn't work or does work but assets are not correctly in the game, like an animation missing or an enemy is suddenly rotated 90 degrees (when no one touched it). I never understood why it happens but I am sure the devs working on the game are as frustrated as the players. they work hard to make this really cool thing and suddenly it doesn't work or show up. I'm pretty sure they are working hard, just know the fires in California may have things slowed/delayed for a bit as they relocate to continue work.

I noticed while doing a casual directed mode that the round spawns went back to normal, but CDM is still broken on textures and the boss fight wouldn't even activate for me and no zombies spawned. Saved and Quit and it took me back to the Orb steps starting at the knights... so there's still more to do...

Would you rather it be fixed halfway or completely? If you want it fixed halfway you'll continue to have issues. Welcome to coding where fixes in 1 area can break something else, this is why TESTING is important. Pushing out updates as fast as possible is exactly why these bugs exist, and why other games that don't test things well get more bugs. The amount of games I've played where people complain about bugs, but want them fixed fast only for more bugs to occur is why we have situations like the current state of the game. HQ forces game devs to constantly work, but the game devs also need to work on bugs. Eventually the devs are halfway dead because they're working for 17 hrs a day (effectively) to make a squid game event while adding "bug fixes" their boss told them to do. Obviously the last statement is just an example and probably isn't reality but you get my point... Hopefully. If you want it fixed waiting 3 weeks for a BIG bug fix is better than a bug fix every day which causes another issue.... Think about it like hacker ban waves. Ban waves in games make it so hackers don't know what exactly was detected in their hack. If they ban the person the moment they hack, they can keep making new accounts until an exploit makes it. Not defending Treyarch, it just how game development and coding works. It's kind of like a remaster isn't as simple as texturing old models, they completely make a new game.

The VFX bug is still present. Before today's patch, i tested 3 matches on citadelle and my FX bugged every single time after round 22-23. And now after today's patch i experienced it in the 50's, so not patched, just happens on higher round.

You want fun, they want revenue but one one wants a L on both sides. Continue being positive (as best as possible) and good things do come. To play devils advocate for the .0001% of players on directed mode, the round delay could be useful for someone who doesn’t understand the concept of keeping a zombie alive at the end of the round and needs the extra time to complete some of the quest steps without any spawns. But then again that wasn’t the intention lol

Agreed, it makes sense that a player that needs Directed mode to complete an Easter Egg, might need extra time to find places or complete the steps in order to finish the procedure. I guess it was not developed as the Camo grinding choice. This being said neither was the likely intention.

The biggest point of annoyance is the fact they patch/neef shit like the camo grind strat and do so with more. But they refuse to fix the main issues that a lot of players are struggling with, like the double vermin hit, mangler spawn etc (talking about the mangler nerf that happened) and the hackers/cheaters I know regarding the directed mode neef it has been reverted now, but the damage was already done unfortunately. I love what they’ve done, but there are a few issues still. .the boss fight sometimes just doesn’t start when you put down the guardian key .when i save and quit after the mystic orb step i still get set back before the incantation statue punching part .when i save and quit before completing all the ritual items it gets reset and i loose all that progress .and the light orbs during the light challenge aren’t visible sometimes :hope treyarc can fix these:/

One lesson Ive learned a long time ago is that Call of Duty is best played once the game’s initial cycle is done (only if you care about Campaign and Zombies). All or most bugs are ironed out, maps are all out, changes to functionality have been finalized, game becomes easier to mod. As excited as I was for BO6, I didn’t buy it for this reason. Imma be buying and playing when all maps and updates are out

I’m on round 290 in citadel right now and it pisses me off seeing the bucket head zombies spawn in at the beginning of every round before the other zombies even start spawning in. It ruins my perfect set up to the start of a new round. They need to fix that. And yes I did all the swords, I’ve tried everything and nothing works.

I can tell you've definitely traded your zombies hours for some gym hours, you lowkey getting jacked lmao Thats how you know the zombies content is not there, cause I just bought the game and I played 3 games was so disappointed by how I felt. It really feels like this game (zombies) is missing passion. Cause I have no desire to play. And I've been playing since before the DLC's dropped for WAW. As someone who followed all news around diablo 4 before and after it came out, ive learned that activision will hold out on meaningful positive updates til the next battlepass/season releases but will input negative changes that players dont like immediately.

I just want to say: In 2021 there were at least 3000 people working on Call of Duty. It has likely only increased since then. So I doubt developers are burnt out from the Squid Games collab. There's going to be dedicated departments that focus on different things. My opinion may or may not be related, however, touching on some issues in development for MW3 which probably also apply to BO6 too. MW3 was a "joint" creation between Sledgehammer and IW. Anything Sledgehammer did needed approval from IW, which would allegedly often take months to be approved. If I were to take a stab in the dark, I'd assume this time is similar (Treyarch/Raven being the primary developer but likely needing approval from somewhere). Bug fixes are being made by one department and documented in patch notes, but the changes aren't being approved. Which is why fixes and changes are in patch notes but aren't going live, and when they do eventually roll out they break a bunch of things. Because there's no testing time as it wasn't previously approved, a lack of communication between departments and the community. Consumer feedback becoming the only way to figure out what has become broken. Not really a healthy method of maintaining a "live-service" game, but I'm not a game developer, so what do I know? Then touching on the Squid Games related stuff, that was most likely pushed out sooner due to it being something from Activision. Making it a "priority" over actual in-game issues.

Just finished the Citadelle EE and almost died because my game was lagging IN A SOLO GAME. You'd think in a $60 game from a multi million dollar franchise I would be able to enjoy a solo experience without having to worry about server issues being the reason I fail an EE (and not from lack of skill). I can look past a lot of bugs, but the fact this still remains one of the game's biggest issues and Treyarch is doing nothing to fix it is insane.

I've had so many bugs in the castle map with both making the swords and doing the final steps of the Easter eggs. As well as dying from the spider things and dying to what I assume is invisible lava in the boss fight. I'm glad I am not going crazy feeling like I'm doing something wrong. Hopefully these fixes planned fix it. Is unfortunate it will take a few weeks. But it's better late than never... Unfortunately means I probably won't get the calling card but I'll keep trying. Maybe I will get lucky... Maybe I should do a solo game and restart whenever a bug shows up.

The thing that killed CoD for me was the unfair conversion of player headshots for the multiplayer camo grind to the one for the zombies. I've got two friends who both got gold on shotguns in the same match in multiplayer, they'd used it in one prior match and got gold on it just 25 minutes later. It takes at least 2hrs for enough zombies to spawn to get the 2k headshots required to just complete the military camos. Multiplayer maps are numerous and when I still played there were just 2 zombie maps. That's a LOT of boring grinding, sat in one spot, waiting for headshots. It wasn't fun.

Every single multiplayer map I play I spawn in a second or two late (which is SUPER annoying playing Domination/Headquarters/or any other objective-based mode) and my graphics are half-loaded. Most times my gun won't even display unless I tap Y.
