It's the small details that puts it over the top. Nobody probably notices the off time high hat beat in between the snare and floor base hits coming out of the guitar solo but i look at little stuff like that and just laugh... You are on a whole different level man...🤟

I feel like all my tricks are lame. Like, the way I'd air out a stick is opposite of the way younger drummers seem to do it. My twirl game is very different from what you see today it seems. I've thought many times about changing it up to get more modern and appeal to a younger audience. For whatever reason Bryan, I kept fucking up the snare part in the chorus the first 3 or 4 takes. Even in this one, at the end, I forgot the fucking pattern again and came in too late. Well, I'll tell you right now that you have made my day with this comment. I had a super fun time mixing and doing this once I got the basic approach ironed out. I did listen to a Jay Weinberg live cut to assist with some modifications that might be acceptable. This is just a tune (and a band) that has been covered so extensively and by so many amazing players that I didn't really know where the line was in terms of too much or not enough. BOB!!!!! What up buddy???? How are ya man? Well, I can only tell you that you are MASSIVELY kind and I cannot thank you enough for sharing with me what you see. I mean that. On this track, I backed up to 2016 (I think?) and watched Josh Steffen. To me, he did this platform one of the biggest solids imaginable. He did single cam shots and somehow managed to bring a schedule of uploads that was insane filled with both on the money parts and improvised parts to songs like these. To this day, I think Josh is an absolute treasure on here. At this point he'll be outpaced by 95,000 drummers that do covers, reactions and reviews but he just covered tunes and played drums. And for guys like me, he allowed us to watch what he was doing with clarity and let us know how to go about the task. Blah, blah. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Not too many I don't think. I've been down a little thanks to a shoulder flare up so I had to learn this in the car and kind of put it together outside the drum room. I did scream "F*CCCCKKK" multiple times when I got behind the kit and my feet got all tangled. Oh God, first time through on the snare / hat section before the breakdown, I had it relatively clean and just forgot the pattern. That earned more than the F Bomb. That was a kicked floor tom. I really need to save and share these moments 🤣🤣🤣🤣
