Spec sheets and numbers don't make the feel of a motorcycle. Everyone of us is unique. The same bike might feel completely different to a different rider. The Yamaha CP3 engine is basically the best engine Yamaha has. That's the base common great thing amongst the 900cc Yamaha platforms. You also have to consider cost. The XSR is imo a great priced class 2 bike for the money even brand new. Hope you get the latest MT09 SP to ride. That's arguably the best performance oriented CP3 package.

Absolutely agree with you there! Spec sheets can only tell part of the story ...riding is such a personal experience, and every rider feels a bike differently. The CP3 engine is indeed a gem; Yamaha really nailed it with that platform, and the XSR offers fantastic value for a class 2 bike. We’d love to get our hands on the latest MT-09 SP and see how it compares - it’s definitely on our radar! Thanks for sharing your insights and for watching the video 🤘

I've had over a dozen sportbikes, everything from multiple CBRs, Z1000s, ZX12R, GSXR 1000, and 3 or 4 months ago I picked up a 1st gen 2020 XSR900 after wanting to try one out forever. Made a few customizations, full exhaust, etc. I'm pretty certain this has been my favorite bike I've ever owned. For the style of riding I do currently and what I want a bike to do, it's absolutely fantastic. Impossible to get bored of riding the thing. It simply won't let you. It's a truly wild bike, it just wants to party all the time. Straight hooligan machine. Literally impossible to ride it like a responsible, civilized individual. The power delivery of the CP3 is literally perfect for a street bike. Great power everywhere, all the time, always ready to rip, and it sounds freaking great. Almost 5k miles in 3 months or so, and a solid month of that I couldn't ride because I was either out of the country on vacation or for other reasons. $33/mo insurance as well, which is ridiculous, any of the other bikes that really compete I quoted at 3-5x that. Absolute minimal maintenance as well, best service intervals on the market. Long live the XSR! 🫡

I have it, I love that 60's retro style, I love how unique it is and this is really a great bike I ride it with clubman bars from Yamaha and it gives a sporty position.

In 2019 i bought a xsr900 same color as yours. And sold it after 2 years, i still miss it to this day 😭 chose it over the rs900 and the cb1000r, because i love how it looks.

I own a 2022 MT09 and I love it so so so much! ❤❤❤ But but I upgraded the suspension to a Wilbers fully adjustable. The stock suspension is really stiff. Tak boleh...

First i don't have the idea of getting a xsr gen 1, I'm more of a MT09 guy but no stocks at all on any shops till get to see this xsr in front of me then decided to get one. I was like woahhh this bike's beautiful.

Another bike that I think will be a great for Sg roads is CB650R. Midsized engine, plenty of usable power, excellent Honda build quality and feels like a natural upgrade from Super 4 with the I4 engine. Sooo bummed that Boon Siew refuses to bring it here, only bringing in the Hornet instead.

They do have the same engine in the cbr650r, i heard the ergonomics isnt as bad as a true superport - somewhere between a sporty naked and a sportbike.

Just got an africa twin adventure manual from NBW. Enjoying it coz its very relax but will give the power when i need it. Problem is dunnoe where to go for future eo replacement, maintenance etc. Can recommend guys??

Would prefer mt09 over xsr900. Pretty much the same bike but more authentic . Xsr900 is a little bit of fake retro hipster poser bike but not really classic. If u like retro classic bike just go for triumph.

Comparable Triumph is a turd in comparison though. Need to step to the Street Triple to be close in performance. Lots of people much prefer the looks of the XSR over the MTs. I am one of those people.

It is not only looks, seating position between the MT09 and XSR from that generation is night and day difference.
