In this intermediate guitar lesson I will show you how to use triad and double stop shapes to create some great rhythm and lead guitar licks and riffs. Triad and double stops are a great way to visualize the guitar fretboard. I hope you have some fun with these triad and double stop rhythm and lead guitar ideas!!!

I want to give you another compliment, my friend. I’ve never played as well in my 68 years of life.❤. And I sincerely thank you from the bottom of my heart Rusty, because you have showed me what I already knew, but I never cultivated it. Now I’m able to put it together and make colors and paraphrases and my creativity is flowing in. My health is improving, and I really appreciate everything. You’ve helped me worse, and I know you were a vessel for a little Lord, and I understand that nevertheless, I really appreciate you.❤

Way to go, Rusty! Don't worry about repeating important techniques. Muting goes WAY BEYOND just "muffling" unwanted noise. I used to think it was only about mufflng unwanted noise. So, I ignored muting for a while. But then I decided I needed to learn it, so i focused on it for a few weeks, until I mastered it. It was worth it. By muting the strings to different degrees, plus the way you strike them (the timing of everything), you can make a variety of different sounds, from a "thump" to a bell-like sound. Now my playing sounds so much more professional. I'm developing my own "sound." Like they say, it's all about technique! That was over a year ago. I've mastered a lot of great techniques since then. It sure opened my eyes. Keep it up! 👌 👍 🤪

I recently really started exploring triads on the D, G and B strings with all three inversion shapes for major and minor chords and applying them to every song I would traditionally use Barre Chords or "Cowboy Chords" for. It's been pretty mind expanding, much like decades ago when I learned about Barre Chords. I'm wondering why it took me so long, as I've been doing the same thing with the inversions on the G, B and E strings for decades, but it never "clicked" the same way. So, your lesson today fits right in as you are using two of the shapes with that lick. Thanks Rusty.

I was the same way. Just playing the full bar chord shapes, and full scales for years and years. I’m still learning how to better use triads and double stops. So let’s keep working on this stuff together. Good to hear from you. Thanks buddy.👍

@@rustysguitar1 Thanks, brother. Let's do that. Maybe you could do a vid on the six shapes of the major and minor inversions on the D, G, and B. (Maybe the G, B, and E later) I think people might find it useful. I wrote it all out for a friend, but I don't have a guitar teaching channel like you do. LOL Peace.
