You're bringing some easy to understand sophistication to guitar players seeking to break out of the pentatonic jail. Keep up the good work.

Bloody great. Just working some single lines for the tune Impressions and the F and G sound fantastic over D dorian. Legend.
Great lesson lots of new stuff for me in this video. Well structured and articulated in an easy to understand way as well !

Love it. Looking forward to more triad pairings. What do you like to do in minor vamps? Like a modal Dorian jam?

Great dude! I'm still learning how to play a Jazz-Blues in Bb, so this is something I'm looking forward to getting stuck into! I'm finding connecting the phrases the hardest part. I have some really nice lines over Bb, but it's finding a nice phrase over Eb that 'works' with the first one. I'm spending a lot of time 'following my ears' which has been great fun & really fruitful

Ace man! Glad you’re getting on well. Given the context of this video - why not try pairing together Db and Eb major triads over your Eb7 chord in your blues, that’ll sound great! 🎸

And there on the road to Damascus, I saw a holy light. The light said: "Do not fear, I am a Triad, and I will guide you home." Brewers 3:14

Thanks for watching! I’m just going straight into my interface, and using Two Notes Genome plugin for amp sims. I think it’s basically a Klon into a deluxe reverb 🎸

I haven't watched the whole video but F and G (G and F really) isn't G7, it's G11. F and G would be F6add9add#11. Which is a bit of a mouthful!
@LearnGuitarWithJimmyBrewer9 күн бұрын
I’m talking about the overall modal context. G11 and G7 are functionally speaking the same thing.
@xcx86469 күн бұрын
@@LearnGuitarWithJimmyBrewer They are in theory butt 11th chords are not as straightforward to use as 7ths, 9ths and 13ths. I'd readily sub a 7th for a 9th or 13th, but would hesitate and really listen before subbing in an 11th...
