It's so easy to forget that with traditional Gospel many times less is more. Thank you, brother, for an excellent lesson

Thanks so much for the lesson but i would prefer to have the camera facing where i'm facing so i can see clearly what i'm playing on the piano..

Thanks for this video. I am not that good at playing piano, I know a little bit of theory here and there, but this video really is EASY to understand and helps a lot!!! Please keep them coming!

What an INCREDIBLE & useful lesson! I'm a guitar player, but I learn more about music & theory from piano players. During my experimentation from this lesson, I've found that V7 Vdim - IV IVdim - vi min7 & Ima7 Idim - bVII13 - I13 - IVmaj7, sound awesome as well. The I13 - IVma7 is a Secondary Dominant move. Where did I learn that? I learned that from watching you! Thank you for sharing your gift of knowledge!

Good lesson, the voicings are nice sounding. Another way to think about it is when going from the I chord (C) to the 4 chord (F) you change the 1 chord to a dom7. C bass with C triad is obviously C major. C bass with the Bb triad is a C dom7 with 9 and 11. Then flattening both the 9 and 11 you get a C7b9. So 2 different C7 chords that voice lead really nice played this way. C7/9 sus4, C7b9, Fmaj7. Or think of triads like the video shows. C, Bb, Bbdim then Am or F for the 4 chord. Gonna use that trick for sure.

Another guitar player here playing piano on the side. Loved this video and subscribed right away. Was working on these 'All Blues' sounding I - bVII - IV progressions and you just lifted that to a whole new level. Love both your clear way of teaching *and* the fact you left some puzzling to see what you did in the left hand, because it looked like you added a 3rd and a 5th here and there. :-) Thanks very much! I'm off to watch the video again.... for the uhhh fifth time. :-D

Thanks for making the camera that way you force me to find the note and add my other notes to it as well . Much needed

A great tip. Thanks for your generosity. By the way, this probably is not for beginners. The explanation of the diminished chord shows this guy has studied and knows what he is talking about. The view of the keyboard is fine together with the explanations. Great voicings. Thanks

I love this, and your style of teaching! Is it possible you could explain the 4 chord or list the notes of the chords you are playing? I would love to hear you play more . Beautiful thank you

It is so much easier to learn when you take the time to spell out the chords. Especially for a beginner as myself, and coupled with the fact that the camera is opposite you, not aimed down on your hands from YOUR point of view. I keep having to stop the video to catch the actual notes. Very frustrating at times!
@johnnynoirman15 жыл бұрын
it is all very well and good... but your placement of the camera has it so that your youtube students can't see the actual placement of your hands on the keyboard...which is funtamental to youtube lessons..this problems can be easily correct with WINDOWS MOVIE MAKER by cutting on the scene with your hand and using effcts with Mirror, Horizontal.
