That's incredible. The original Triage At Dawn is so melancholic and sad and most post-rock compositions have the same mood. And unlike Triage At Dawn post-rock songs have duration 5-6 minutes or even more and has no vocal. Now when you put it together you get best combination and perfect sound. Author of this cover compositon made a very great work. Thank you so much for this.

2:50 right there. what I hear there, is Death Note's main theme with hints of FTL and Mirror's Edge. and it all boils down to the electric guitar... I don't know what it is about it, but you can't convey the same feel with other instruments (especially if it's tuned as it is here, in contrast with heavily distorted or over-driven guitars from other metal genres) in other genres, it's a companion to the singer's voice... here, it's the main voice, it has it's own identity.

Thanks for the kind words man! The vibe of Mirror's Edge is definitely a significant influence on my sound so you have good ears for picking that up. I also agree big time that guitars (with certain effects) just can't be replicated with other instruments like synths or keys. There's something special there, maybe it's the imperfections in the tone/timing or the way the fingers are playing it, who knows, but you're 100% right. The guitars are also tuned to drop C if you were wondering 😉

@@angusbraico8902 it's the urban vibe of that sound... just like lutes or acoustic guitars were the sound of the folk stories of old times, this is the sound of stories of modern times. that's why I mention Death Note: the OST of the anime is a mixture of metal, classical and electronic, and the guitar is always there, accompanying both main characters, and especially during establishing shots which is all urban environments. "Here be the story" _visual, Tokyo_ "Enter, situation" _guitars setting the mood_ Greek classical theater, superseded by travelling minstrel with a lute, superseded by metal band. also, check out the OST from Black Mesa especially the finale of Blast Pit. same cathartic use of the guitar: "Alright you ugly fucker... get! off! my! PLANET!"

Man... recently got into post-rock and love this style/genre so much; triage at dawn is one of my most favourite pieces of game soundtrack. Thank you for asking. For this track, I'm playing an Ibanez S6521Q running direct to BIAS AMP with a few pedals in the chain. The TC Electronic Hall of Fame and Flashback pedals are doing most of the heavy lifting (especially with the ambient/lead tones) with the Horizon Devices Precision Drive providing some tightness and chunk to the rhythm tones. Hope that covers it! 😊
