Thanks for showing what is achievable on big bikes when you are willing to put in the work instead of simply blaming the tools. Dave seems like a great teacher.

Thanks for watching. Dave is an excellent teacher and great friend. As I get older, these types of exercises hold back the aging process.

Garth, I'm no where near the flashest rider out there. A heap of this has got to do with how Dave approaches the training and preparation. for three after this ride my glutes were killing me.

Impressive handling that beast. Some of those obstacles would challenge me on a much smaller bike. Not sure this motivates me to own a 250kg+ adventure bike though😬. Thanks for sharing.

If I lived up there I'd be going straight to Bilpin; What a great coach and great set up; The way he stands along side and uses his body language to demonstrate as if he is on the bike is fantastic; And he is obviously very patient and loves teaching others which helps anyone struggling with confidence Now Dave; How do you reckon you'd go if that balance board was a plank suspended like a bridge over a creek? Would you swim or stay dry? Reckon you've now got the confidence to keep looking straight ahead to where you want to go and not where you don't want to go? Well done taking on the tyre chain and beating it; That challenge is hard enough on an Enduro bike let alone a wooly mammoth! And I like how you pick up the beemer; Made it look easy. Cheers for the entertainment!
@MotorcycleAdventureDirtbikeTV19 сағат бұрын
thanks Mark. I reckon I'd end up in the drink even if it was 50% shorter :). As Dave says, it's mind over matter and you just go to commit. Yes, I too, like how he stands in your peripheral vision and gives you reminders, it's very effective.
@markhills39224 сағат бұрын
@@MotorcycleAdventureDirtbikeTV I'd probably end up having a swim too; Keeping focus on the destination is bloody hard when danger is right beside you distracting the eyes...thus the head and shoulders; "mind over matter and just got to commit" Easier said than done when ya have a body that constantly reminds of the consequences of having that perspective as a younger bloke; I don't bounce anywhere near as good as I used to!

Yeah, I've seen some Moto-Cop who do schools that show how to ride large bikes on the streets under adverse conditions and all these guys who teach you how to balance your weight & the weight of the bike against whatever forces you come up against are the equivalent of you going to learn Judo or a marshal-art w/ focus on the body balance as you use it. I like this guy and if I lived there I'd want to train w/ him. My lack of ability would be shown really quick at this school...... peace
@MotorcycleAdventureDirtbikeTVКүн бұрын
Yeah Dave is great. You'd be surprised by how your conrol skills raise through those simple, less dramatic exercises.
@diggy-d8wКүн бұрын
I do get it.... pushing you to Just Do It cures you of any phobias you might have & by having someone there to push you as they explain what can happen in each circumstance = It builds confidence ! That's the big thing, seeing the way the weight of the bike might act to a given circumstance, learning how you might contain or save(stay upright), and knowing the worst case scenario if you do fail. All of that together is the tool that makes you better... lol, but for me I wouldn't be doing it on such a monster of a bike. I couldn't pick her up but that's me, the course is good for ALL Bikes so you know what to expect. What does Dave charge for a lesson or do you sign up in a group? Curious here as I've seen an ex moto cop doing his Harley Riding techniques down in Florida. He's like 80 yrs old & still riding. Street riding is different but no matter where ya ride keeping the rubber side down is paramount to living...... thanks man, I'm a fan

Why not? There are times when a man has no choice like on a tight trail somewhere with a downed tree in front of you and no way to turn around...Or a rock ledge that you have to get over; Then again, if you're worried about scratching the bike, best not take it off road.
