I'm 40. I caught these guys opening for Matchbox 20 when I was probably 15. Bought their CD at the show - have kept it in my car since. By far one of the best albums I've ever heard - to this day.

Love it. A band I never tire of listening to - so underrated. Good to see Gordon Vaughan back fronting 1500 Pieces - a bit synthier and poppies than CFA but so good to hear his unique emotive voice again

It's too bad Cool for August is no longer together. I was following the band when they were in Atlanta near the end of their run. My friend and former co-worker Chris Harris was in the band as a multi-purpose instrumentalist. From what I recall, the August boys were finishing up sessions for a new album in 2002 when they suddenly called it quits because of "personal differences." I don't know the whole story, of course, but it seems they forgot the message of one of their later songs ... TOGETHER WE WIN!!!

That's cool that you know Chris...he is very talented. I know a large part of the demise of CFA was the change in direction from the record label. Moon Hill's brother Shad, was a primary song writer. The record executives were looking for a different style of music, and with major songwriter gone they lacked confidence in CFA and decided to move in a different direction. It really is a shame. Probably at the very end they were still hoping to get re-signed and when it didn't happen, eventually people drifted their separate ways.

Amazing ! I might be one of the few here in The Netherlands who has this album. I imported it from the US after being tipped by one of the background singers of Matchbox 20. From the moment i got the album i am in love with this band !
