Deep breathing can reduce stress and anxiety. It can also help you improve your attention. In this short exercise, we will practice triangle breathing.
Start at the bottom left of the triangle.
Breathe in for three counts as we trace the first side of the triangle.
Hold your breath for three counts as we trace the second side of the triangle.
Breathe out for three counts as we trace the final side of the triangle.
You have just completed one deep breath.
Continue practicing deep breathing on your own. Visualize the triangle as you breathe.
Remember to incorporate deep breathing throughout your day. Deep breathing decreases stress and increases calm.
