I just bought it. I turned off the cab sim and ran Wall of Sound for more varied options I'm familiar with and it sounds killer. What I'm most impressed with so far though is the noise gate. I've got half a dozen different noise gates and they all do an okay job but none of them get it 100% right. This gate surpasses all of them by far. I got my noisiest guitar sounding tight, right up front, in your face and ready to track. Brilliant. I am hugely impressed with this pre-amp sim.

TheRealReTox Try use the cab sim provided in the plugin. Imo better than torpedo. In fact much better.

Nice tip! I def got stuck using the cab sim in the plugin, compared to a few other options I have, it's def one of the better sounding ones. Gonna bust out the torpedo today!

An important information (for some, maybe) is that the Reaxis can read 'real' Triaxis programs presets. So if you use a Triaxis, or have someone who does and wants to use in on the plug in, you can import them directly into Reaxis.

I was hesitant in purchasing this sim but I am thoroughly pleased with it. I purchased a Mesa TriAxis and have been using it with Mercuriall's free IR speaker sims and its instantly Metallica's Black Album tone. I purchased this software so that I can jam and record without using any real gear. I have made back to back recordings and its indistinguishable from the real thing. Worth every penny and I have retired all my gear for home playing. I must say one thing, on all sims I hear a crackling sound in the tone, I even hear it in real miced amps but the sound seems to stand out more in sims and this once has it but not as in your face as so many others I have tried. I cant wait to get the Spark 'cus I am more of a Marshall guy.

Dont download the demo, just buy this!!!! It is amazing, I saw the demo vid last night and immediately bought the plugin and played most of the night. Get it in the next 2 days to save 30 bucks, its on sale!!! Dont think, just buy it. I have been comparing it to the Fortin NTS and the only thing I wish could happen is to use the Zuul and Grind with the reaxis...anyway amazing plugin and as always, awesome vids Ola!! What is usually the perfered signal chain for running plugin amps? Currently, I just have my guitar going direct into my interface but it sounds not so good. Should I throw a DI box in between that?

Disclaimer: This plugin is AWESOME! Especially the LEAD 2 Channel - mainly mark iic+ - has great power and solid gain, best for either scooped metallica stuff or full blossoming petrucci style rhythms. And Dear Ola: Your Clean tone (Juicy Clean) is really great! Chorus settings give large volume to each note!

Won Woo Suh I'm using lead 1 with gain at 8 and the overdrive to tighten things up.with the stereo effect, it sounds like it's already been mixed. It's just sooo good.

Ilian Petit Yes. I use most of my tones on Lead 1 Red or 2 Yellow. Red 1 with gain around 8 gives great modern-british lead!

Ola you should update to Pro-L 2, it's free if you have Pro-L which yo do!

What i mostly listen for is digital aliasing in the top end and how the amp sim responds to Ola's playing. Does it chug when Ola digs into the strings? does it get fizzy and "plastic" sounding when he plays lighter? Those are the hardest aspects of high-gain tone that amp sims seem to have.

Not recommend using separate impulses. Mercuriall built in cabsim is the most robust sounding cabsim Ive ever used very dynamic unlike others that sounds static and flat. Also if you can tweak on the cab you dont need post eq at all to sound super good. And when I use this plugin, it is not dark at all, it is really easy to tweak to your liking. Sounds super good.

Does anyone here understand Mercuriall's activation policy, it states I have 4 activations left, does that mean if I use them up that's it or can old ones be reactivated? Frustrating because I want to use it on two PC's but do not want to waste an activation is its just one and done.

If you use all of your activations (Like I have in the past with the U530 because I'd been doing clean installs like crazy), you can just e-mail them and they'll give you more activations for free. They're pretty cool with it, unless it has changed since...

I can't justify $80 for this when I already have Amplitube Mesa pack, but this does sound pretty good I'll admit. I'm buying a new interface and monitors for my studio so we'll see.

I have the dual and triple rectifiers in Amplitube 4 and imho there's no contest, this sounds way better. Have you tried the demo?

Well, I own a real Triple Rectifier, and none of the plugins sound even close to the real thing imo. lol. Amplitube Mesa vs....??? Maybe you need some better headphones or monitors? Anyways, I can't see the point in more Mesa plugins at this point especially when the ones I prefer are licensed by Mesa. I'll check out the demo - but I still think its too expensive for what it is. I've got to many IR's and plugins as it is, they don't make me play better, they just make my wallet thinner.

Just different preferences and frames of reference. You've got the real amp (very nice), I didn't think you did because you originally only mentioned Amplitube. I only have Amplitube and now Mercuriall for simulating Mesa amps/pres and I prefer the Mercuriall tones as far as plugins go. It'd be great to have the real amp though, for my level though this gets me by, I have a lot of fun doing things in-the-box anyway. But I agree 100%, I've got a stack of IR's I rarely use, plugins too that really just made my wallet lighter. Chasing the tone dragon lol. Good luck with the studio upgrades, that's always a lot of fun once everything is installed and you get to enjoy it.

On the Mercurial webpage, it says that this plugin is supported only on Pro Tools 11 or newer. Can anyone comfirm that it does worm with other software?

From the site: "Mac: VST2 Universal, VST3 x64, AU x64, AAX x64 (Pro Tools 11 and newer) PC: VST2 x86, VST2 x64, VST3 x64, AAX x64 (Pro Tools 11 and newer) " The 'Pro Tools 11 or newer' but is only referring to the AAX x64 version. VST2 and 3 will work on basically any modern DAW with no trouble :)

£4,600 for the Triaxis and 290? Then you need speakers! Obviously, nothing sounds like the real deal and never will. But for the price, it's pretty damn impressive!
