Yes.. Tribal People Go Wild at a "Golden Coral" buffet restaurant. I was in England at a restaurant and one of the workers there asked about Buffets and if they are actually real and what they are like. They are not really that common but most big cities have some and in places like Vegas there are many. Maybe it would be fun to send Tribal People on a Carnival Cruise ship 🍱🥘🥪🌭🍕🍟🌯

IHOP was my first job and helped me become a responsible adult. I'd still eat there. It's a clean place and they give every employee a free meal, which is rare.

The syrup at IHOP is artificially flavored, but real maple syrup is delicious (and expensive---because it is labor-intensive. ) Here in the Great Lakes Region in the U.S. and Canada, the sap in the maple trees starts to flow in late Feburary and early March. The people drill a hole in the tree and collect the sap in buckets. It looks like water, but it is then poured into a large vat, where it cooks over a fire for a long time. It cooks down to an amber-colored syrup. The Native Americans pour this syrup onto the snow to make a chewy candy for the children. So glad you enjoyed IHOP pancakes. The whipped butter makes them extra special! Do you guys have leddu, loukoum, or zalabiya? We have something like zalabiya here, but they put powdered sugar on it, instead of syrup. It's called Funnel Cake.

They are such nice guys. My wife grew up on a farm in rural Philippines. When she came to America, I got to see her react to many foods she never tried before- Peanut Butter and Jelly, BLT, Cheesecake, pastrami sandwich, all kinds of foods. I should have caught her reactions on video.

It's a different expirience to eat with your hands and particularly when it's messy! It's so liberating to not use cutlery. Also there's a lot of sharing and even feeding each other. Just eating together has a completely different value than in the west. Food is not always at plenty so you do invite everyone around. It's generosity at it's best. Also guests get encouraged to eat more. 😅

I just saw an ad that they now have pancake "tacos." They put fillings inside them and then fold them up and put them in taco holders. I would have never thought of that, but it kind of makes sense. 🙂

Pancakes should be hot enough to melt the butter enough to spread and get soaked into the pancakes. I usually put it between the cakes. It didn't look like the butter was melting properly. I guess that's my American habit. It's very unique to pick up by hand. Usually, I use too much syrup and would get sticky. It most likely isn't maple syrup either. It's probably "pancake" syrup that is usually made with corn syrup. A lot of Americans call pancake syrup "maple" syrup. True maple syrup comes from "tapping" maple trees of their sap and boiling it down into a syrup. It's fairly expensive. Much more than pancake syrup used at IHOP type restaurants. Glad to see the guys enjoying the food, though. My staple at IHOP is 2 eggs over easy, hash brown potatoes, bacon, and toast. With a side of pancakes. I forgot if the guys have tried French toast. It is fairly simple to make and a little easier than making pancakes but similar tasting.

true, like a lot of honey from kfc is only 10 percent honey and 90 percent regular sugar water or something. If you go to a grocery store in the US though you can buy 100 percent maple syrup or honey though. The chains just use the other stuff to save money. I'm not sure if the butter is real or not, maybe just butter that is whipped.

I worked at two different I.H.O.P.s in two different cities - they always used margarine Also, the tiny little containers of syrup is a disappointment ....when I worked there - we had the multiple flavors of syrups in the pourable little pitchers with lids on them. This company is nothing like when I worked there in the 70's and 80's.......

I love how when they get their food they admire it a bit, talk about it, smell it, and then enjoy eating it. It's an experience. Some folks in MY family (even me sometimes)? I've always been a healthy weight and bmi, but am somehow prediabetic. I miss pancakes more than anything even though I haven't had them since I was a little kid. It is the only thing I really crave. But I stay away while I keep my blood sugar at a healthy level and stave off diabetes

It's good to introduce new pleasures to our friends. This morning I had eggs, bacon, and French Toast, yogurt with blue berries and . . . black coffee. I'm even drinking black Sumatra coffee as I watch this video. My wife and I used to eat at IHOP (before it was called IHOP). They served us with a full insulated pitcher of good coffee.

I guess an IHOP in your country isn’t the same as here, because of the way they were served, and especially since you’re eating the pancakes with your hands they don’t look the way they normally would. You would have butter and syrup dripping down your arms if you were here in The South!
