I've never really been a fan of Michael Jackson, but I distinctly remember seeing this song for the first time when it came out. There's only a handful of songs that had that much impact. It's totally not my kind of music, but I do agree he was an extremely talented artist and he deserves the title.

@@dugdoll3295 Did you got what is actually happening in this song? Do you know this song continued in many live concerts where you could actually see what is taking place and how sinister this song is? Do you know that he is talking to God Himself in this song? He sings words like "what about all the peace that you pledged to your only son"? You cannot imagine how dark and Satanic this song actually is and what kind of evil precursor and a prophecy this song is as well.

An interesting fact about the song is that he wrote it in 1988 during the tour for his Bad album. He saw changes he didn't like in countries he had visited before. His company told him not to put it in his 1991 album because they thought it would make the album to preachy, because it already had "Heal the World", "Black or White", and "Jam" in it. So, he pushed it back to his 1995 album HIStory

New definition of wisdom: sin causes wars and climate change and solar panels make the earth hotter by dragging the sun closer
@JBUHJBUH
@JBUHJBUH 2 ай бұрын
@@dominika3762 I mean yeah, sins like greed (hoarding all the wealth for yourself) & pride (not seeing it acknowledging the hard work those 'below' you are putting in, even when their lives are no longer sustainable) are indeed causes of wars & conflict the world over. Wars are a human made problem. As for the sun comment, it doesn't pull the sun closer to us but rather its rays are concentrated on the solar panels. You're taking your own education for granted - just like you learnt about the orbit of the earth around the sun from a textbook, she learnt her knowledge from those around her. It may not be scientifically correct, but mocking her 'new definition of wisdom' does not solve anything. Look at the video where Adnan teaches about the solar system & you'll see just how many underlying assumptions we all take for granted that make it *easier* for us to absorb that information, compared to someone like her who is at least *open* to hearing different opinions because she shares them.

This was so beautiful, seeing that they didn't need any translations, hearing their wise words, and Uncle Abdul showering us with his wisdom as always. As someone from a city in America, I'm often conflicted with technology. Because of how far we've come as humans we've lost what it means to truly be human, but because of our advancements I'm able to connect with my family on the other side of the globe and listen to a song by Michael Jackson with them. So, where I see inherent value in technology, I also see its downsides as well.
@JBUHJBUH

Technology is not evil or good. It's a tool, like any other - it all depends on how we use it. To give you an example: Writing is also a tool. I'm sure there were people who were against it at the time, too. I can just imagine it now, people complaining that writing everything down will affect our long-term memories &/ or the ability to remember stories long enough to pass them down to the next generation (i.e. the 'orator/ storyteller' role in a community). Even now, I'm sure there are people who never write anything down by hand anymore. Sure, they're saving paper (& trees). But they're still using electricity to power their audio recorder &/ or screen instead. There is no one, easy answer.

The fact that this song was made in 1995 and the relevance of the message is still very strong especially nowadays (currently cop27) . It's one of my favourite songs by Michael; it's telling us that Earth is alive not a lifeless 'thing' we can manipulate, Earth is showing us something, Earth is sending us messages and we are not listening to her. Because we ignore her, we harm ourselves. The natural disasters that occur are due to our negative actions. She's reciprocating the damage that we have done to her. Earth is such a an integral part of lives, we are a part of her, we need her. It's even more upsetting that the people who are most affected by natural disasters are the people who are doing the least/no damage. One love, peace☮🌍

Need more of these videos...it is so powerful to see folks who do not understand the language/lyrics but can ascertain the MEANING from the visuals and tone to which it is sung. And to be vulnerable going into filming a video knowing they may not "get it" but willing to be filmed as they process their emotions. It's also a true testament to why MJ will forever be the King of Pop - his music transcends race, creed, origin, and was truly music for the world and this video is just more proof to how MJ is still able to this day make an impact. Bless you all for this video.

MJ music was always about making things right, exposing the corruption, how else are destroying the earth, wanting equality for everyone and to just live in o3ac3 and harmony without going to war or doing anything to kill the animals and destroying the water . His music and the vidoes and lyrics were always meant to be very diverse amd just bring people together. He went through a lot at a young age because of his dad and his upbringing but still made sure to bring awareness for every topic

I think this song and its video is one of the most powerful pieces of art there is, the fact that people don't even need to speak his language can understand what his is trying to say, not even from just the video they could just hear it in his voice; his grief for the state of the world. Nothing has ever compared since. Look at music videos now, half naked people, talking about violence to glorify it etc. it's sad how things have changed. It's all just superficial, we will never have another artist like Michael Jackson in our life time

Amazing how the oldest(I don't remember the name) is also the smartest! Reminds me of my great grandfather! He used to tell me when I was a little kid: don't think that you are smarter than your oldest just because you know the new world! Keep in mind that we saw a lot of "new worlds" come up and then crumble in the dirt!

Most of Michael's best and most thought provoking and genuinu heartfelt music was produced in the last two or so years of his career, but they were overshadowed by controversy and the fact that honestly, sometimes they were uncomfortable/hard to watch. He sung about racism, global warming, war, etc. He put his heart into those songs, trying to drive audiences to think and be responsible for their actions. I think a lot of his fans had, up till thst point, just followed him for pure entertainment and feel good songs that made him popular. I honestly hope those songs from his last days find a resurgence because they were beautifully filmed and written. Thanks for sharing them. ❤

I love this. Great idea for people of different nation, culture and language to watch this and still understand the same important and powerful message. Beautiful to watch. I can imagine Michael being so happy to see the message in his song translate to others so clearly.

As a life long tree-hugging dirt worshiper, you're singing my song. There were few people at first, with so many unfamiliar animals, birds, fish, trees. The air and water and soil was clean. We could not imagine that there was an END to it. Now that people are MANY, there are fewer and fewer aminals, birds, fish, and trees. Those we have suffer diseases never before seen. We pour our waste into the air, into the water, into the earth. Soon, there will be nothing but us and WASTE. We must stop, and change things, to see the spring come again. Much love to my friends!

It's amazing. To see how these people think. So much peace, love and good thoughts. They understand what really matters and what this earth needs to become a better one. I also loved the conversations at the beginning of the video! Interesting to hear how people used to know how to help themselves with less packaging and waste. These people help to make this world a better place. ❤

Abdul and Parvati are amazing. Abdul is wise, almost makes me think of how a sage would have been. Shortly after the start, without understanding the language he nails it when asked what is Jackson saying and Abdul just says ‘ he is grieving’ ! Non of us could have put it so concisely. Parvati is great. Her physical knowledge is limited but she is not afraid or ashamed to admit that and asks questions. If she doesn’t understand she will say ‘i don’t get it’, but when she gives her viewpoint it is so well considered and relevant. I imagine she is an amazing Mother. It shows that wisdom is NOT intelligence or knowledge.

I live in North America. In Canada close to USA. The older good looking gentleman with the white beard, who is my age, has it right. Rich people are very selfish and feel entitled. People here, especially in USA think foreigners are bad. I disagree. We are all the same all over the world. Your videos remind me we are all alike and every one is just trying to get by. To live. To feed their children. To find some peace and happiness but the greed of the rich overcomes all of that. I am more like your friends in this video than the rich people in my country. I struggle as they do and watch the rich ruin everything. I feel close to them and I thank you for the insight you offer the world. If I was rich I would fly you all here. Bless you all.

When you have a dream with a comparable setting as to the one in this music video, it's scary and distressing let me tell ya lol. Wish there could be a reaction video of Michael Jackson watching this reaction video. But alas, there's no point in wishing for the impossible......good way to set ourselves up for negativity. On the other hand, it can be fun to imagine how he might've reacted to this! 😊
