Wish you’d have looked it up and explained it to them. Should have told/shown them where Ireland is and that this is for Eurovision 1994, and do they not have the word river in their language? And should have told them Riverdance is the name of the legendary Irish dancing dance group, it’s not a River Dance, a dance having to do with the river… because that gave them the wrong idea… And no, you don’t have to be a gymnast, there’s no gymnastics in it, and it is partly tap dancing, yes, and of course “everyone in the group has the same dance style”, they are Irish dancers and have a synchronised coordinated choreography, it was made that way and it’s how it is (: the main pair choreographed it too. And they’re not there just for them but for the whole Eurovision show. And not a studio…

Traditional Irish dancing in adopted for 20th Century. No gymnastics just energy. American tap dancing is a very poor copy of Irish Tap dancing. Michael Flately the male dancer was world Irish dance champion Alas in 2023 he is fighting cancer. Full show lasts about 2 hours and can have up to 100 or more dancers on stage at any one time They dance to the beat of the music and can never be tripped up no matter how fast the music is played They are owned by the sound and dance to its tune as if in a trance. Down side is there are few professional Irish dancers over 50 years for obvious reasons. There was an American football player who attributed his strength to a season of learning Irish dancing. It gave him mussels in his legs and his lungs. He celebrates touch down with an Irish dance. The show has toured the world many times Presidents request tickets to see it. It's simple Irish dancing children learn. The boys who stick with it get their reward at puberty. For every 10 girls thar dance at 15 years there is only about 2 boys still dancing. arn
