Beets have also been shown to create nitric oxide in the body not nitrous oxide different thing that's drag racing something else and dentistry, however nitric oxide as I mentioned before what it does is it allows the capillaries the veins and arteries of the body to relax and expand thereby allowing more oxygenated blood flow to flow throughout the body to the muscles and even to the brain thereby enabling people who consume beats to work longer and lift heavier loads and build muscle faster or at least that's the premise.

I live in a small Canadian town of about 200 people. I raise chickens to sell eggs, door to door but I also grow vegies and berries so I can make jam and pickles as well. Pickled beets are my favorite! There is sugar added to the vinegar and beet water to cut how sour they get. I enjoy canning and pickling everything I can grow.

Mango pickle or Indian pickle should be easy to get if you have any type of South Asian shop around (maybe online). You might not agree about liking the taste but never know until you try. If you do try the pickle mix, I like the pickled lemon bits. It's usually taken with breakfast. I'm actually curious to know if you like it. My Granny & Mom made pickled beets, & what they called " End of the garden pickles", using all the vegetables left at the end of the season, that might otherwise have gone to waste, such as little green tomatoes, carrots, baby peppers, onions, preserved in a vinegar, mustard, pickling spice brine. I would love to try their pickles in mustard oil, that sounds delicious! But it's nice that they liked the pickled beets too. :) When I pickle them, I use onions and apples with some spices like fennel seeds. They are so healthy, but even more so when they are fermented. You just peel and grate or slice them and fill the jar with water with 2% salt. It will ferment for 2 weeks and afterwards, it's one of the healthiest foods on the planet. Maybe you could show them a video on fermenting? This might be useful to process their harvest too and it's very easy and fun.

It's a common condiment with dal chawal. You can find it in South asian ethnic grocers all over the world. It's used sparingly because it is mixed and eaten with the main dish similar to a chutney as opposed to western style pickles which can be eaten standalone.

@@sherridadey5053 It's a pretty seat of the pants affair but I'll tell you what I do. In a glass jar, I alternate layers of cooked, sliced beets and thinly sliced onions. The jars I use are recycled Lipton Instant tea jars and hold a bit more than a quart so 2 or so cups of sliced beets and one cup of onion, approximately. In a stainless steel or enamel saucepan, I combine equal amounts of water and cider vinegar, adding a half teaspoon or so of dry mustard, a 1/4 teaspoon or so of white pepper, and 5 or 6 black peppercorns. I sometimes add a heaping tablespoon of pickling spice. I bring it up to a boil, reduce the heat to low, and allow it to simmer for 20 minutes or so. When the liquid is still boiling hot, I stick a butter knife in the jar with the beets and pour the hot liquid over, leaving a generous inch or so of headspace without removing the whole spices. I then remove the knife and fill the jar to the top with extra virgin olive oil, taking care to make sure all the beets are submerged. I insert the knife so it will absorb the heat from the vinegar, preventing the jar from cracking. That's pretty much it. I store them in the fridge for a few days before I eat them and haven't had any problem storing then for a month but they usually don't last that long. When I use them, I add enough extra virgin to the jar to keep them submerged. When you get ready to make a second batch, start by using the leftover vinegar/ water solution from this batch. As the process ages, it just gets better. You can also add whole, peeled, hard boiled eggs to the beets if you wish. Whatever you do, this is pretty difficult to ruin as long as you use vinegar and keep it refrigerated. It's really super simple and you can modify it to your own taste.

I'm in Canada too and I love Pickled Beets. I don't think they are very popular with new generations in North America it's sort of an old fashioned food but I love it.

A cup of beet juice a splash of Worcestershire sauce two cups of pickle juice and a cup and a half of squid ink mixed together and put into a stew is absolutely beautiful on the tongue in ways that you never thought possible. It also goes pretty good in Cincinnati chili if you have the right type of chocolate. I prefer dark mexican chocolate myself. I really wish I could go to the Punjab region of Pakistan just to learn how to cook like these people. They're simple people with decent simple lives and from what I can tell from internet videos their food is extremely flavorful and delicious. I tried making pickles with mustard oil. It came out pretty good so did the Cayenne Chili Peppers that I pickled too. Those everybody should try. mustard oil pickles are incredibly amazing and absolutely delicious!😁😁😁😁😁😁

My favorite salad, leaf lettuce, spinach, pickled shredded beets, chopped hard boiled egg, cucumber, frozen & thawed raw green peas, green or sweet onion, and roasted pumpkin seeds with a dash of balsamic vinegar and a little olive oil. Next favorite, a big plate of pickled or plain beets with just a little salt, mmm. Either one is a whole meal for me.

The vinegar will help with all leg cramps. I love pickled..well everything. We make a dish called chow chow which is cabbage, green tomatoes, peppers and spices that is pickled and you can put it on beans, greens or anything. It good to give your meal a little more flavor. This is a southern U.S. thing. We are the poor of the country and we have to make the most out of what we have and this was a way to preserve the end of the season produce.

Don't get the juice on your clothes, it won't come out. My family eats pickled beets with hard boiled eggs. After a few days of soaking the hardboiled egg in the juice, they turn purple down to the yolk.

It's Important For Them To Know That Vinegar Is Also Very Beneficial To Our Bodies,, Also That Pickled Beets & All Other Pickled Items Vary Greatly From One Maker To Another,, And Tahir Should Know That Many Companies/People Do Add More Spices,, Garlic,, Onion,, Etc. To Their Pickled Items..Some Even Have Chili Peppers Added To Give A Nice Little Bit Of Heat/Spiciness To Them.

Omg, I'm addicted to pickled beets. I dont know why though. If you finish all the beets in the jar you can get a can of regular beets, slice them up and put them in the juice left by the pickled beets and let them soak in it for a week or so. They come out pickled and tasty.

In the usa beets are considered a super food due to all its health benefits and vitamin content. They even sell it in a concentrated powdered form so you can more benefits from it without having to eat a lot of beets at one time. Picking is a way of preserving beets for long term storage. Usually there are slices onions in the pickle beet too.. it's used in sandwiches or as a salad . Personally I'd rather have them boiled until tender with a little butter, salt, and pepper .

Pickles in vinegar brine is a cheap way people kept vegetables over winter after the harvest when there were no freezers.Around here hard boiled eggs are pickled with beet juice which turns them pink.
