Who first made lemonade? The first recorded version of lemonade hails from Egypt. However, the earliest written record of a lemon beverage actually comes from 12th-century Egypt. Along the Mediterranean coast, medieval Egyptians enjoyed Kashkab - a drink made from fermented barley and flavored with mint, rue, black pepper, and citron leaf. HOWEVER, lemonade as we know it now and today debuted in Paris on August 20, 1630. Made of sparkling water, lemon juice and honey, vendors sold it from tanks strapped to their backs. While popular across Europe, lemonade became so fashionable in Paris that in 1676 the vendors incorporated and formed a union called the “Compagnie de Limonadiers”.

One good tip is to use a lot of finely crushed ice and confectioners sugar to sweeten. . It makes the best lemonade. When we worked in the fields as a teenager harvesting tomatoes, cucumbers or baling barley straw , our mothers would bring a small wagon with a big thermos of cold lemonade. If you are hot, you had to be careful as the cold beverage would give you cramps if you consumed it too quickly.

Really interesting that their perspective of health relating to the effects of hot and cold and their management, relates to other cultures indigenous medical theories. The most popular example is traditional Chinese medicine, which takes a huge focus on the “internal temperature “ and there is a lot written about what happens when one’s internal system is too cold, wet, hot, etc and how to fix these issues.

Traditional medicines that are demonstrated true become mainstream medicines used in healthcare. These concepts of internal temperature have been studied and demonstrably false. They're as incorrect as the old concepts of the 4 humors. There's a reason modern medicine raised human life expectancy rapidly once developed.. Some of what they say is just straight up wrong, helps with acidity? Lemons have citric acid lol. A nice cool glass of lemonade helping with hypothermia? Utter nonsense.

I have a summertime drink that is lemonade over crushed ice with Uozo ….. but i know these gentlemen do not🎉 drink alcohol so i have a non alcoholic alternative….. well chilled lemonade…. It's not actually, American lemonade is made with lemons. There is an actual citrus fruit called a lemonade. The skin is green and the flavour is not so bitter, it is a similar size to a lemon. A drink made from that fruit is actually real lemonade.

It would be nice to let them try a Virgin Pina Colada and a Frozen Hot Chocolate. A frozen hot chocolate consists of really good quality hot chocolate with a FROZEN scoop of either vanilla or chocolate ice cream to float in it. The scoop has to be a decent enough size that it won't immediately melt or cause the drink to become cold. Its supposed to gradually melt into the hot chocolate to give the hot chocolate some of the cream from the ice cream as well as allow you to spoon some of the refreshing cold ice cream into your mouth. (You can sip some of the hot chocolate and have a little hot and cold at the same time. Kind of how you'd eat apple pie ala mode). 👍. Or, they could try FRIED ICE CREAM!!!!👏👏

Mint is used in iced tea also in summer.Around winter holidays it is often a candy or creamy drink flavor or added to coffee .Lemonade is typical in hot weather.I squeeze a lemon wedge over fried fish or grill fish with Lemon Pepper masala and melted butter.Bodybuilders use whey in their"muscle powder" and my dad used to drink a coffee substitute from around WWII made of toasted wheat,though I don't think Postum is still made.People in Louisiana sometimes drink roast chicory as a coffee substitute or add it to tame down coffee bitterness.

I don't see any ice. Was it served ice cold? I've never seen mint in lemonade. A glass that size would only need one lemon, not two. Please do your research so they can have authentic food.

Just because Rana said that they put 2 lemons in 1 glass, doesn't mean that's the case. The men guess quite a lot about the food they're served and they're not always right. For instance, they recently tried a creamy chicken breast dish and almost all of them thought that the sauce was made of pure butter. The producer did correct them in that instance and told them that the sauce was made with cream, butter, garlic and I think, oregano. I'd say that they give them the ingredients about 50% of the time, especially if one of them expresses a desire to make the dish at home. They're also a culture that tends to drink most beverages without ice. It gets so hot during the Spring and Summer months, that it's difficult for them to keep the ice from melting. When we were traveling in the UK, we rarely got ice in our drinks, unless we asked for it. And when you do ask, you're usually lucky if you get 2 or 3 ice cubes. They even serve room temperature beer in a lot of the pubs. LOL As the old saying goes... "different strokes for different folks".

Do you drink Gatorade? There's quite a bit of salt in most "energy drinks". It helps to replace the sodium/electrolytes that they need when they're out working in the fields or on construction sites. When you sweat, you lose a lot of the body's naturally produced sodium and you can get dehydrated and feel weak very quickly. 😊
