Banana pudding is my state's national dessert. I live in Tennessee. Here we use Jack's vanilla wafers instead of Nabisco. There are two kinds of banana pudding, old fashioned, which requires stove top cooking and new school, which is made with the instant pudding mix. Banana pudding is a huge deal in Tennessee and has its own festival. I have some old school kind in the fridge now. ☺️

Having grown up in the Southern part of the U.S., "Nanner Puddin" was/still is one of my favorite treats! The funny thing is, that I really don't care for bananas on their own. It's very rare for me to just eat a banana as a snack, but I love banana breads, muffins and cakes... and of course, Nanner Puddin! I even enjoy sliced bananas on my Corn Flakes. If there's any left over the next day, it's even better because it allows the Nilla Wafers (biscuits) to get even softer! I've seen some recipes that call for banana flavored pudding, but I prefer it with vanilla pudding! The combination of the vanilla pudding and buttery wafers with just slightly over-ripe bananas, is simply the perfect bite! I'm very sorry that our "Mr. Sweet Tooth" was injured in a biking accident. I'll be praying that his finger heals quickly, since as a dairy farmer one of his most important tasks every day is milking his buffalo (I think?) and goats! And I also hope that his relatively new motor bike isn't damaged, since he mentioned how much he needed it for both personal and business purposes. Here in Quebec we have Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry, Butterscotch and Pistachio pudding flavors (JELLO brand). But we also have pie fillings that resembles pudding as well and pairs very well with crumbled Graham cookies and whipped cream. They have Coconut, Keylime and Oreo flavors. I'd be glad to send you a few boxes of each so they can share with their families too! :)

It looked good but u forgot the whip cream which we put in layers or at least on top with those vanilla cookies crushed & sprinkled all over the top & a layer of them on the sides & bottom & a layer in the middle. Layers of cookies- pudding- bananas- whip cream & decorated pretty with cookie crumbs whole cookies & bananas just a few because the Air turns them brown. We have a cold pre made whip cream called Cool Whip that my mother always used that was really good but it has to stay cold which my mom kept in the refrigerator for hours or overnight so the cookies soften up. This is a very popular dessert in America's South. Hope his finger gets better & did it ruin his bike. Motorcycle or bicycle. My brother was killed in a motorcycle accident, he had a Harley Davidson. 🙏

Banana pudding, bananas and Nilla Wafers is a classic southern dish that has been embraced by most of the country. I like it, but with the cookies separate from the pudding and bananas. I don't like mushy Nilla Wafers. I love how they think this would be served at a wedding. It shows you how different their perspectives are, due to their circumstances. These gentlemen have such class. It shows you money doesn't make a person classy, only wealthy. Class is inside a person. It's something they are raised with. These men have very little in the world's view. Yet they are wealthier than the richest man in the world. Even when they are given gifts, they share them with others. A lesson we all could learn. In essence, Jello pudding is flavored powdered custard(basically) mix that you add to milk. The key difference between pudding and custard is custard is thickened with egg and pudding is thickened with something like flour or corn starch.

That is American Banana Pudding.Weddings typically have a special cake of a certain recipe and a Groom Cake that is something else.Banana Pudding is a staple of Thanksgiving or other holidays where family gathers and often made in a big layered bowl like English Trifle.Vanilla pudding is milk,egg yolks,sugar,vanilla extract and corn starch for homemade but Jello probably has a secret recipe.

You can take graham crackers with chocolate or vanilla pudding and layer them. Line a pan with graham crackers and then spread a layer of pudding and then another layer graham crackers. Do this for a few layers, cover and refrigerate for several hours. The next day, it’s even better. My grandmother who would be 116 or so made this for us when I was a kid. She used to make it for my mom too when she was young. They didn’t have money to buy bakery cakes and this was relatively inexpensive and delicious. You can top it with whipped cream or cool whip.

The jello flavor is vanilla. When made with bananas and vanilla wafers the dish is called banana pudding. Yum. Jello does make a banana flavor pudding as well, but the "banana pudding" dish is better with vanilla.

Now make them the classic summer salad. 🥳 6 oz. package orange jello ; 1/2 c. shredded carrots ; 8 oz. crushed pineapple, drained ; 3 Tbsp pineapple juice or orange juice ; 2 c boiling water ; 1 1/4 c ice cold wate Prepare orange jello using 2 cups of boiling water to dissolve, stirring well; add 1 1/4 cups of ice cold water to jello to cool. Add the shredded carrots and drained pineapple; mix well. Place in refrigerator to set.

Pudding is something they can make easily from scratch. Just milk, eggs, sugar, corn starch, and vanilla. Interesting that they refer to ice cream as that is pretty much the same recipe except corn starch. Love making this for my grand children.

In the UK, we have trifle. It’s made with cake, jelly (jello) fruit, custard and cream. For special occasions it can have sherry (alcohol) in it. It’s my favourite pudding of all time and my mum’s is the BEST! 😊🇬🇧
