Actually we are using their words in our language, didn’t you know Farsi was official language of previous empires. Urdu/hindi was introduced by Britishers as official language.

Those words are Persian that we use in Urdu / Hindi , even if you hear Fasri speakers you will be able to catch few words . Its so beautiful how languages connect us. India ka offficial language was Farsi and there are still many people in India who can speak Farsi. And pashton has words related to Farsi.

I'm Afghan, and they're speaking Dari (similar to Farsi). My family grew up listening to nothing but Hindi music and Bollywood movies (they can speak some Hindi now too), and I'd often hear many of the same words we speak in Dari.

I have been drawn to the afghani culture, their language, their customs and have always found them to have an innocence we rarely see in adult humans these days. I am surprised to find so many words in their dictionary that are also commonplace in Indian languages. Adorable people. First Afghans I ever met in my life I met in my home country Germany in the early 2000s. All of them very kind and fun people to be around. It was actually some of the first people I got to watch Hindi movies with. Later I moved to India and have been living there for now 7 years. So having an emotional connection to both India and Afghani people, this video and the reactions in it made me very happy! Great to see India's cuisine enjoyed and appreciated and great to see such lovely and polite people.

It's true. We had a lovely lady from Jordan who had her own restaurant in my University town. Her husband was a professor. She had chai and something called Turkish coffee, ( and home made baklava and chicken shawarma) and I would go to sit and talk to her and eat. I haven't had Mediterranean food as good as hers since then. The drinks made life better. There is an Indian food restaurant that has opened near me now, I'm so, so happy.

I live in europe and my mother used to tell me stories about when she went to different countries on holidays when she was a kid and got to experience the cultures of Spain, France etc. Today if you go to France Spain or Germany its equivalent to going to another city in your own home country, the wow factor really is gone. The middle east still has a strong sense of culture though and I hope it stays that way.

Yeah cause Sanskrit and old Persian (Avestan) are pretty similar. They have a lot of cognates but the cognates do not always mean the same thing. And afghans speak Pashto which is basically a Farsi dialect.

There are many in Calcutta too. They are called 'Kabuliwallahs' in the local lingo although they come from all over Afghanistan. They are really good people, and very proud of their culture.

@@wmw.afghanistan How come Hyderabadi biryani is related to Uttar Pradesh, Hyderabad being the capital of Telangana? Moreover Nizams ruled Telangana not Mughals. As far as I know biryani and Hyderabadi biryani are different from each other in the style of preparation and ingredients too. But you mentioned in the video that Hyderabadi biryani is Mughalai cuisine and was from Uttar Pradesh. I am confused. Please explain.

It's surprising how much I could understand as an Indian. Captions are stupid. They don't do justice. Why else would they caption chutney as pickle. Achaar is pickle..! Chutney is a legit word in English dictionary. Shaakar to shakar etc, so many similar words.

Yes because Modern Hindi is mix of many languages including some words from persia, afghanistan, central asia. I am also from india. Studying in Kyrgyzstan and i was surprised to know there are lot’s of similar words in Hindi and Kyrgyz

@@Dr_AK33 yes but a lot of those words are similar from Sanskrit. They called milk "shira", "shakar" for sugar in their language, in sanskrit it is called as ksheera and sharkara. In modern hindi though, it is called "doodh" and "chini". Afghanistan had been a part of a contiguous Indian civilisation in ancient times.

I love how i can relate to some of afghani words, aachar(pickle), maska(butter) just amazing how distant yet connected the culture is. @@waishashimi2236 There are in excess of 42 million ethnic Pashtuns in Pakistan. "Pakistani" is a nationality not an ethnicity. I have family from Peshawar, i assure you plenty of Afghans who came over during the Soviet war have large businesses. Many simply don't want to go back to Afghanistan.

This was so heartwarming. For madam at 5:53, your emotions show that we are more alike than different. Whenever guests come over in Indian homes or office, Doodh Pati Chai is usually the first thing to be offered , second only to water. After a long tiring day, people are craving for Chai as it does in fact relax the mind and the body. I wish I could taste it for the first time all over again. This was a treat to watch. He probably meant that its a mixture of Muglai and Awadhi cuisine . And for that he would be correct , That Biryani specially Hydrabadi birayani is A take on Awadhi biryani with whole spices.
