it really breaks my ❤ kids these days watch this video now & don't even recognize the Twin Towers in it! this video was actually filmed on top of one of them (the North Tower, specifically. 1st to be hit, 2nd to fall) (and for ANY new age kids wondering when this was, if those 2 towers are standing, it's DEFINITELY pre 2001. that's a guarantee.)

Wow, this was a WILD trip down memory lane. I haven't heard some of those songs in like twenty years. Limp Bizkit was HUGE in the late 90s/early 2000s. They (and KORN) were the front runners of the whole Rap Metal genre. And then Linkin Park became big too. And yes, "I did it all for the nookie" means what you think it means. LOL.

If you want to check out some true genesis of combining rap and metal, check out "Bring the Noise" by Anthrax and Public Enemy from the early '90s. It was originally a PE song, but the two later collaborated to cover it. Anthrax did their own rap song, "I'm the Man" a few years earlier that was good as well but more Beastie Boys style. Instrumentally, though, Bring the Noise might have been the first proper mash-up of the two genres.

My older bro loved Limp Bizkit. If you’re intrigued by the rock/metal/rap combination, I highly recommend Linkin Park! They’re classified as “Nu-metal.” Their first two albums Hybrid Theory and Meteora are basically no-skip albums. They also did a joint album with Jay-Z called “Collision Course” which is Linkin Park’s and Jay-Z’s hits mashed up. They did a live concert as well of these mashups, it’s here on youtube!

The name for this type of music, and the type of music that was VERY popular, exploding onto the scene in the late 90s early 2000s was called NU Metal. It was a mix of Rock/Metal/Rap and honestly is still popular now despite people memeing on it.

Thanks for taking me back in time! It was fun to watch this with you. I was a teenager when this music was popular. This not what I expected tonight but I'm here for it.

Always nice to see a young'un appreciate some Bizkit. :) Yes, Fred Durst's shenanigans used to be hella annoying, but to this day very few bands can bounce a crowd like the Bizkit. p.s. given that the Rollin' video shows them playing on top of the twin towers, it's older than 14yrs!! ;)

Nu-Metal is truly timeless because of the hip-hop and metal influences to it. There is nothing that will change. The years of rock in the early 80's into the mid 90's smashed head on into the massive love for new age hip hop that everyone loved with the very catchy. Its a honest test of time. It hurts to still know Limp Bizkit is one of the most hated/loved of the generation. Personally born in 92'. They were the first band I truly listened to EVERY day. Fred Durst is a legend. Wes Borland (Guitarist), Sam Rivers(Bassist) John Otto(Drumer) and DJ Leathal are the true OGs next to KoRn, Orgy, and a few others were the best bands of the late 90's into the mid 2000's.

Literally the only reason I listened to limp Bizkit is because rollin was the entrance music for The Undertaker in 2001. WrestleMania 17/X7 was awesome.

Damn I ain't enjoyed a reaction video like I enjoyed this one for a minute!! Love the idea of reacting to a bunch of songs in a single vid and you chose a proper old school band that had some absolute bangers. Would you do a video like this to a band called Bring Me The Horizon?

what’s wild is “Break Stuff” and “Nookie” (or as you put, “Rat Metal”) were from their 2nd album, ‘Significant Other’…which was released in 1999. the rest are from their 3rd album, ‘Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water’ which dropped back in 2001.
