I'm going to defend the K-army asking the question at 57:29 since they were being wrongfully attacked lol. A better translation for the question might be, "For the Mic Drop ending, why is it Yoongi who drops the mic?" They are asking why specifically YOONGI (vs another member). IMO Vlive translator did a poor job conveying the emphasis/stress of the sentence, which is too bad because it's a good question 😅
@maira.azzara5 ай бұрын
but even though it wasn't the best translation the question was still pretty clear though . I don't understand why loui and the chat were that pissed lmao
@crescent13715 ай бұрын
the chat calling that army stupid for asking a harmless question was hella weird. crazy how some people are so comfortable at being rude to random strangers
@acesquare305 ай бұрын
i agree!!! and it's weird that in the chat they IMMEDIATELY started dunking on k-armys as a collective like...mayhaps you have some unconnected unresolved issues with them that go deeper than this particular question... let people ask what they want to, my goodness, these questions are really fun, especially in comparison to what live chats have looked like lately
@Jimins__Pookie5 ай бұрын
@@maira.azzara No, the question wasn't clear. The mistranslation makes it sound like the ARMY doesn't know why a microphone was dropped at the end of MIC DROP and it sounds like a dumb question because it's literally the title of the song.

they don't necessarily do Cyphers anymore because they're no longer as mad as they were before. maybe UGH is the closest to Cypher recently but again I think joon talked about it? That they no longer harbor so much hate. BUT ALSO given the recent events with MHJ bijch maybe we might get Cypher pt5 BUT!!!!! collectively we have decided that Cypher part 5 or Cypher V must include taehyungie because it's right there in the title and it's a dream come true for him hehehe

*about rapline cyphers* i feel like chat didn’t explain very well. there isn’t a “cypher 5”and likely won’t ever be - but when joon mentioned cypher 5, he wasn’t just lying lol they were working on a song that they probably regarded as “cypher 5”, but later on decided to change the title. there’s a few obvious reasons for this, but the most important one is that the cyphers had a purpose: rapline proving themselves as rappers. a lot of people think the cyphers was for “addressing haters”, but it’s not _exactly_ that. with the cyphers, the rapline was addressing a very specific kind of hater: the “hiphop losers” who disregarded them as real rappers, because they debuted in an idol group. it was a way for them to showcase their rap skills and humble these people, proving they were better than any so-called rapper who had thrown shit at them for “selling out” and leaving the underground rap scene to become “puppets” for an idol company. it’s very clear when you read the lyrics for all 4 cyphers, and i feel like a big part of the fandom just doesn’t understand that, but just parrot the “cyphers = rapline going off!!!” (maybe because it all happened a long time ago, and the fandom has grown a lot since, idk). i’ve seen people say that “rapline doesn’t feel like that anymore”or that they “grew” which is _kind of_ true, but the fact is that *the cyphers served their purpose.* they don’t need to prove themselves as rappers anymore (not that they ever did), which means there’s no reason for a new “cypher”. rapline will keep going off and addressing haters (as well as other things) in their unit songs, and you’ll see that with upcoming albums/releases. cypher 4 wraps it up perfectly, in fact, by pointing out how bts and the rapline are moving on to a new chapter (love yourself series), on a whole different level, flying higher than any those people could ever dream of. they know their worth, and they don’t need to prove themselves to “hip hop losers” anymore. “I love, I love, I love myself I know, I know, I know myself Player, hater, you should love yourself” *RM* “You should change the pattern of condemning me bae It’s making me bored, _boring bae_ Now I don’t hate you […] You’re going to shoot me anyway” *j-hope* “I go up high over the top, higher higher higher It’s not possible anymore to pronounce “giving up” […] Open your eyes and see my ambition *Listen to my words that I’ll say for the first and the last time”* (followed by the hook) *SUGA* “I’m so high, what are you even looking at Even if you do a run-up, I’m too high to be touched by your hand […] Why do you blame me for your mediocre life Just keep living like that, just moderately I’m sorry but I’ll earn more going forward, so watch me and be healthy, please” (i just realized how lengthy this is im sorry 🥹) i don’t really know why people cling to the word “cypher” (even tho it’s a cool word and brings with it a clear vision based on what we got previously), i just don’t know why people go nuts about this topic, and never give specific reasons why they want more cyphers besides missing the old cyphers. i don’t know if they want a “cypher-structured” song (each rapper gets 1 verse, maybe following the usual order, with a short/minimal hook), or if they want them to “clap back” at haters. if they want more aggressiveness, more hype, more “putting people in their place”, more of the rapline showcasing their skills… we literally got all of that after cypher 4 (and been getting it still, with their solo work), no cypher-title needed. the argument of it being “the vibe” is just the same thing boracity talked about in the bts-genre video. no song is the same, but we still get all of their old sounds in different ways, because that’s how artistry is supposed to work when you involve yourself in it. music as a whole is always evolving, genres are constantly being brought back and re-invented. even if they were to create a song exactly like one of the cyphers (which are all different btw) it would never sound the same, or even similar enough to some. i remember when wings came out a lot of people didn’t vibe with cypher 4 because it sounded too different from the previous ones (it was “less aggressive” “too produced””pop-sounding” “unimpressive”) and nowadays i don’t see people talking about it all that much - but the fact that cypher 1-3 came out back to back (album wise) and cypher 4 only came out after a whole era (hyyh) had passed should be answer enough as to why it might sound different? some people weren’t satisfied with it then, like some people aren’t satisfied with post-cypher releases that have most - if not the all - the common elements cyphers 1-4 had. now that the songs with theses elements aren’t called “cypher xyz” they can openly ignore or nit-pick the similarities, which they couldn’t do so openly with cypher 4. now they can justify it with “there’s 4 cyphers therefore anything else that isn’t titled ‘cypher 5’ isn’t _exactly_ what i want, even though there are songs that tick most, if not all the boxes. since it isn’t titled ‘cypher’ it’s _technically_ not what i want, and that’s ok!” which is precisely what we see people do all the time with their catalogue as a whole, they just don’t have a “song title technicality” to use as a crutch 🤠

Thanks for this. I thought that Cypher means a rapper - jam session. (googled : "A cypher is a gathering of rappers, beatboxers, and/or breakers in a circle, extemporaneously making music together. In recent years, the cypher has also grown to include the crowd and spectators who are integral to maintaining the energy of a given cypher.") Maybe ARMY has gotten used to BTS cyphers just being diss raps specific to their haters. But moving forward, I'd love to see their cyphers evolving to explore any and all free topics that they may be led to extemporaneously rap! Don't be sorry about the length of your comment. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.

@@AilinLoh during a cypher, you usually focus in one person at a time, and i think bts’ outro circle room cypher is a great example! rappers can showcase their skills during a cypher since each of them gets their own “time to shine” (unlike performances/songs in which they could be sharing lines, or just have multiple (smaller) parts throughout it, instead of a single “big” verse that could help showcase more of their skills). so idk why people started to think cypher = diss. maybe because rapline did diss people in the cyphers, but they dissed people in other songs too 😭 i guess people just associated the word “cypher” with their “aggressive/braggadocios rap” since the guys used the cyphers as a way to humble the people that were trying to put them down (by showcasing their skills in one verse, as one would generally do in a real cypher) i’m glad to know you enjoyed reading all of that btw 😭🙌
