They literally gave us a 5 minute tutorial that basically taught us the stuff that anyone who has ever played a video game before could've figured out within minutes. ** You don't have to be present when killing a giant, completing an event, a camp, or even things like destroying a gate in order to get the rewards. Good team mates will mark the spot that it happened on the map with something like the treasure chest icon, for others to see and go grab. Then after about 5 or so minutes that icon can be removed, because the drops will have expired.

Carrying a golden egg while leaving the world will give you 2 additional golden horns. Those don't show on the rewardlist and often go unnoticed.

(if you play solo) I recommend starting with the builder kit, from there turn on your quary and kit as many camps as possible to get a lot of souls, then find the trader and buy the 5 hideout fragments, meanwhile the quarry that you build on day 1/2 will have gathered all of the materials you need for the bridge

If you use your special attack on stone and trees you can get the tinker upgrade lvl 2 and the stone tools. You get more souls with better tools

I just started playing this yesterday, and I thought time wasn't a factor in regards to difficulty. I was just leisure exploring, gathering things, running away from most enemies and dying on day 3 or 4 consistently, lol. Now that I know this is a time crunch thing - I'm kind of put off with the game. I like the idea of exploring at my own pace and building and upgrading. Great for those that enjoy the rush of being under time management. Kinda reminds me of the old days where a level was tied to a speed run, or a protection level. I never enjoyed those in videogames. And this game is essentially all the things I dislike in a game. If you like it, great. Not my type of game play.

try survival mode there is still a kinda time crunch but not nearly as bad. get some buddies if you have any that would play with you and you should be set to explore and build to you hearts content.

@@alexrogers1324 I have gone back and played it a little more, watching more "tips" videos because I tried to do what this youtuber said to do but I have no idea how he is collecting all the resources to do what he says to do, lol. I am always short with stone and iron. I did make it further, but it got to the point where during the night raids, my weapons weren't doing any significant damage to the minions. I strike away as they kill my tree. So not sure what I am doing wrong...I want to give this game a fair shake, 9 hours into it and it's a slog to do all that stuff over again when I die and I lose all my horns. I will try survival mode and sadly, none of my friends are playing this game. But there is a demographic who love that when you die stuff, over and over. Demon Souls, Sekiro, BloodBorne. All of which just defeats me when I have to start over again for the upthteen time, lol. Just not my game style, no different than someone who doesn't like sport games. I do enjoy the game play, I just don't like starting all over again and losing my stuff, lol

yup, hard farm mats for lvl 3 tink, quarry, lumber, lvl 2 smith and armoror, then hit the upgrades hard. warden rushes construct, gets the ancient chests, then rushes soul gatherer, get all the extra mats in war chest and sell for souls, finish all upgrades in base by day 5-6 while everyone else is heavy exploring and dumping all resources to chest... oh swamp witch give lem horns which gives most of the purp weaps... If your not warden then rush bones and silver for quick armor/wep ups. day 3-5 complete bridge, should finish lair by day 7-8. finish fen by day 8-10, kill 3rd jotunn(spelling?) bifrost out, repeat

Fragments for the Saga boss do not change solo, small group or 10 players. What changes is how many fragments you get from an event or jotun kill. If you are solo and go to the hideout you get all 5 fragments that you need solo from 1 hideout. If you're in a small group 2-3 everyone that is in the hideout gets 4 fragments making at least 2 people be there. In 10 mans you only get 1 hideout fragment per person in the hideout when you open the 3rd floor chest so at least 5 people need to be there when you open the hideout chest. In solo you only need to do 1 quest to get enough fragments to turn in, in 10 man if you're the only one doing quests you have to do 4 or all 5 quests.

Don't get it , ppl randomly kick you and ban u for no reason whatsoever , when ur banned they even get to use your weapons and I guess skins. happened to me twice on both 18 hr grinds. NOT WORTH PLAYING. U want to make ur own world so u can host? Go ahead an wait for 0 ppl to arrive in it. You get ppl if your LUCKY. This is all in survival mode.

If you're on the fence about it... very fun game. You will not conquer this game on your first run. Not even on your first 20 runs lol. It takes time to understand everything about it and many things can't be taught on a video. Just takes practice. You'll develop and pattern and figure out what's best and when it's best to do it. I recommend leveling up your weapons fast, then tools so you can get more, then the passive income sites and then armor. Unlock every portal you see. Farm enemy camps early on the get more souls and runestones for abilities. The tool guy makes certain mats as well. Put all your mats in the global chest and the NPCs will recognize it from there. That way your team can use it as well. Don't feel afraid of adding extra souls to the tree, but make sure your weapons are repaired before doing such. I didnt last night and my sword broke while being attacked at night and lost bc i was reduced to punching them. One mistake can cost you everything. overall... 9.5/10. It needs a few things but im excited about the future of this game. Repeatability is high with this game. Each run feels a bit different than the last. Kind of like Ark. Same game but every PVP run feels different.

I'm clearing saga solo by like day 7 or 8 consistently and I have to say the villager armor start is not nearly as good as starting with the tools and the rune that gives you more loot drops. You can punch down two bad guys when you're naked, and you'll probably level up and full heal by then, and youd get enough leather for the whole set.

I start out with the hammer and nothing to hide. Its the best and I get tool by the time I get into the village so starting with them isn't necessary plus the nothing to hide rune is crazy good

The game is really cool! The only thing that bugs me is that you don't get a few minutes to just relax and explore. You always have to be fighting or gathering otherwise your weapons / armor / settlement will be to weak to withstand the nightly attacks.

I think it's by design because if the start of the game is too peaceful, you'll be able to explore way too far compared to what your level should allow you to and the enemies would get too hard to beat with what you have on you (armor, weapons). But I agree a little cooldown time after night has passed would be nice to regroup and decide what to do next.

@@LegacyGamingUSFirst off, time management isn't the enemy, it's your friend but we knew what you were trying to say. That aside, as a solo, efficient time management is even more crucial to success. A single death can easily make or break the run, depending on the amount of souls lost. In other words, be extra mindful of how many souls you're carrying, what you'll be using them for, and consequently using them sooner rather than later. For instance, if you know you're building a quarry and you're running past said quarry with 600 or more souls, dump them into the quarry rather than carrying them around, even if you don't have the other resources to finish the quarry. By the same logic, if you're running around your camp with 2000+ souls and the weaponsmith isn't upgraded, plop those babies into that. Simply said, put them to use sooner rather than later. Exploration in solo is paramount to success, and should be the number one priority. Stop fighting singles in the wild until there's a train, and only then engage them, preferably near resource nodes so your special attacks are clearing those. Also focus on following roads -at least as far as a waypoint star and activate them of course. Not following roads leads to wasting time in canyons, running into dead ends, is slower, and is just a bad idea in general. Buy construction ramps. Also killing Jotuns asap isn't necessarily wise. If you're exploring vigorously (and obviously getting waypoints activated) you should have teleports to get to them at a moments notice. They respawn every 2 days from the time they die, not at a fixed time on every second day. Also base defense is inefficient before day four. Level your npcs rather than helping them and they'll do fine until day 4, the bloodmoon. Those are a few of the big points I've picked up from both playing and watching other's content.

Wish I Knew Sooner: there's no cross-platform with PS5 + PC. My friends got the game on a Steam sale and I've downloaded it on my psplus subscription. I should have look for some news before download it. In 2023 and this kind of game doesn't have cross platform play is really sad.

Runs shouldn't be taking multiple hours. It's round based as opposed to long term progression based like you might be used to in survival games. You should be aiming to complete these objectives all in one sitting as quickly as possible.

I can't entirely agree with the villager kit starter, and it's videos like this that ruin so many runs by giving wrong advice; the reward for the armour isn't even that useful. Starting with ten iron, stone, and wood is more practical and can grant access to the rusty tools, which will give players a high-level weapon early in the game. There is a bigger chance of getting the quest, as there are three. This also helps get plenty of stone/wood for the bridge/boats early game. To get a decent weapon, everyone should rush to the nearest barrier; there is nearly always one within walking distance; this will also give you the two wood if nine novices are running around in villagers' armour. A barrier should have enough iron and stone for a better weapon than villager armour. The armour can be acquired with two-three kills, and then you have to surpass the perk of villagers set with continued benefits that help all players and not a selfish starter kit that you suggest.

This game needs another video, explaining more basic things. Opening it up for the first time is an overwhelming experience. Just the options and UI are overloaded with options and info. The tutorial teaches nothing about this. My tendency is to first play single player, to "get gud" so I don't ruin online games. But I do not see the fun yet. And this video explaining that time is your enemy, well, that just makes it look more like work. "How to have fun with Tribes of Midgard?" could be the title...
