I live in the distant east of India, in Bengal. We hear stories of Afghan people who used to come here in the older days to sell dried fruits and carpets and such. In fact our name for chickpeas is ‘kabuli chana’ in Bengali. We call these people Kabuliwalla and there is a famous story by Rabindranath Tagore about one such person. Shookor really looks like he could be a Kabuliwalla. I really hope people could freely travel between our countries safely.

American/Carribean showing support. Love the channel. I've always had a soft spot for the middle east and south Asia. Being Puerto Rican, many people think i am Arab or Indian, so I've had many great interactions, even after they found out I'm latino. I feel like many in these regions are wary of strangers, but when you are able to find something in common they open up beautifully. PS an indian man paid my scholarship for school. Awesome people.

I remember reading a book from a family that travel the world years ago with their children. It was before war, in the 1980s I think. They said Afghanistan was their favorite memory because they were so wellcome. First they wanted to stay one week and leave... They stayed there 2 months and cried when thay had to leave. Always thought it would be great to visit, but sadly it's not safe.

It was rather hurtful hearing someone describe a whole country as evil considering India was supporting Russia during the invasion and your evil neighbours stupidly allowed a flood of refugees in that caused a whole plethora of problems once the protagonists left. Also may I be allowed to address the issue of modi’s govt allowing or rather encouraging genocide. Yes there are good and bad people in every country but how is that new?????
