It's not better then welding, provided that you can weld, have the equipment, and the welds are properly done. I've seen a lot of badly welded trikes. My bolted trikes work pretty good. Compared to my high end ICE QNT they're 7 out of 10. And it can be build on the kitchen table as a matter of speaking with the least amount of tools. You're welcome to make a copy. Zo te zien doet deze het goed, ziet er in ieder geval weer leuk uit al dat geboute aluminium. Eigenlijk een 2de mannetje eens meenemen voor te filmen als je aan het fietsen bent dan krijg je er wat meer actie in. Maar je filmwerk is ook wel oke, weer lekker rustige niet schokkende beelden. Een goede vaste hand.

+Epic Adventures For Survivors tribolttrike.blogspot.nl/ I can't repeat it often enough: PROTOTYPE! Most parts you spend money on can be used again. Build one quick and cheap to get an idea about performance etc. I won't claim it will be as good as a factory trike. But yes, a lot cheaper. A tandem should be possible and fun. Perhaps with a double main tube for extra strength. I have changed/reduced the caster angle somewhat for better handling. Recumbent trikes are 99% about steering geometry. There are a couple of options. That is why a prototype is so important. A rolling frame can in theory be finished in a week or. This will give you an idea what to expect. Find some wood, scrap metal, anything. Once you have finished it you probably won't need me anymore. By then you will have learned enough to figure things out yourself. The biggest mistake people make is they are trying to get the trike perfect the first go. That won't save time and money. A super cheap and quickly built prototype will. Leave the wallet in your pocket for now. BTW. The cheapest tandem I know of is the TerraTrike Rover with tandem extension. I think a homebuilt should be compared to that model as for performance, handing, reliability etc. Don't expect wonders.

Gaaf design, ik wil dat ook heel graag doen in de zeer nabije toekomst. Vraagje, kun je met een dergelijke fiets een afstand overbruggen van circa 30 kilometer binnen circa 60 - 70 minuten? Ik vraag dit omdat ik een alternatief zoek voor mijn scooter. Ook heb ik een baan waar ik veel bij zit, de beweging is dus echt meer als welkom.

Ok interesant. Ik ben nog niet getrained in het fietsen op lange afstand, dus ik verwacht er al een flinke dobber aan te gaan krijgen. Maar heb het er wel voor over om dat te gaan overkomen. Ik denk er ook inderdaad over na om een soort ombouw te gaan maken. Misschien niet een volledige omsluiting, maar half gesloten om de weerstand iets te verlagen. Hoef er niet zozeer mee te racen namelijk, als ie maar vlot genoeg gaat. Hoeveel weegt dit design eigenlijk dat je gemaakt hebt?

Arie B Een kilo of 20. Maar er kan nog wel iets af. Een stroomlijn zal nog eens 10kg zijn. Deze moet wel volledig om echt effect te hebben. Dus ook bodem en achterkant. Maar dan moet 40kmu haalbaar zijn op de rechte stukken. En je zit ook warm. Of mij het lukt iets fraais te maken weet nog niet. Maar eerst de trike dus.
