My husband met Shirley Maclaine at the king Edward in Toronto when he was a bellman .. the concierge sent him up to the 8th floor because there was a lady lost in the hallway and couldn't find the elevator to get down to the front desk ..he went up and realized it was Shirley maclaine and she grabbed his arm and said thank god Im glad your here to save me she laughed and he said she was a lovely person with cheerful manner .

I think he was the greatest showman who ever graced a stage. No one played the piano as well as he did!

Always had a smile for everyone. I just wished that I could have met him back then. He would captivate his audience with his beautiful jewelley and of course his beautiful music. He was indeed Mr Showmanship. So what of his private life everybody's got one. He was just born the wrong time when everything and everyone was so much criticized. He opened the door to all the performers who came after him but no one has even come close. RIP Liberace and looking down on us just remember, as you would say, that you gave us too much of everything and that is WONDERFUL

When I was a kid, (circa late 50s), one of my prized possessions was an 8x10 framed publicity photo of Liberace looking very dashing in a blue silk suit. With so many moves - and, well, just "life", it was lost. I still miss that photo to this day. Also, I do remember seeing "Sincerely Yours" when it came out. A few years back I was able to obtain the DVD from Amazon. Initially I was thrilled until I realized all the lettering on the cover was in Korean. However, the film, itself, was in the original English. Yay !!!

@@liberacegirl1865 I too am a recent fan, it sucks to never have met him right? At least technology has immortalized him. I saw some people saying that harry styles practically invented gender fluidity (and wearing feminine clothing) in the music industry and my mum was so shocked and horrified (I was too because hello? Freddie, Elton and Prince?? ) and my mum asked "has Liberace really been forgotten about??" and I said "who now?" so my mum showed me and I can honestly say there is and has never been anyone even close to him and he really needs to make a comeback(but not only about his sexuality because that wasn't all that defined him, like when you google Liberace, Scott shouldn't come up too). Its a shame my generation (most people after the boomers tbh) don't appreciate class.

Love this guy but seriously people didn't know? I get accused of it all the time & i don't wear fur coats or jewelry or have a guy hanging around me in every picture. People of that generation must have been in denial. But he should have just lived honestly, he might very been around longer. Visiting seedier dark unsafe places for sex, was just a disaster waiting to happen. And it's sad he thought that's what needed to be done. He was such a groundbreaker on so many levels, that being out might have caused the world to be alittle more accepting earlier.

Wow! My man bought subscription tickets for us (me) at the Garden State Arts Center during the late 70's & early 80's. I took years of piano lessons. Liberace had the "Dancing Waters" like at the Bilagio Hotel in Vegas. I went to the stage to see his diamonds & danced Strauss Walts with him. I was dressed for the occasion - all sparkly. I realized the older people going down the center isle to feel his mink coat & see his diamonds (my age now) were going very slowly so I scampered down the side & got to the stage first. I saw his diamonds & he asked me if I'd like to dance with him! Steps came out to from under the stage & he was such a gentleman & the orchestra started playing a Strauss Waltz. I thought it was the a dream. He smelled good & was so genuine. It was a wonderful concert for me! ❤️✨

I honestly don't mean this disrespectfully, but I do wonder if Liberace was a top or a bottom. I mean, that younger blondish guy with the mustache was in a lot of the pictures with him and as a bisexual man, I know a lot of older guys want a younger bottom. I'm just saying... I wonder...
