Great stuff! My go-to hunting rifle is a 1971 M77 in 30-06. Killed loads of whitetail with it. Came home from work last week and had a big nursing sow about 250 yards out in my pasture. Hit her square through the shoulders with a 180 grain soft point and watched her go about 12 yards and drop. Love the rifle and love the 30-06

@4:28 Looked like a shot right up the Pigs turd hole 😂👍🏼 ! There’s Nothing like a Ruger, I own several in the M77 MkII and I own a few in the Hawkeye’s. I have a couple of the Number One’s also My favorite is the Ruger M77’s with the Tang Safety’s & the Bargara Hammer Forged Steel Barrels with the band on the end of the Barrel. Those Tang Safety Ruger’s with the Bargara Barrels are the best Rugers ever made in my opinion. Because you can shoot them thousands of times and not wear the riflings out in the barrels . I love Ruger & the Old Winchester’s they are my Favorite Rifle manufacturers! They really make Top Quality Rifles Built to really take abuse and still perform excellent. 😁👍🏼

I turned 18 a couple years ago and bought the closest rifle I could find to yours. Ended up with a 30-06 m77 hawkeye with the LC6 trigger for about $500 new old stock. It's been great and I've shot a quite few pigs and things with it here in Texas. I'll admit I've shot alot more with my AR now but I can't see myself ever selling it like with my other guns. It seems to me like one of the last rifles that will be affordable enough to be wide spread and rugged to be considered classic.

This gun is a real workhorse in the hands of a great shooter. It get'ts refined shot by shot. It's like an old guitar becoming better when played over decades. I like that very much. Because you often use a wide angle lens on your camera, the shooting distances are difficult to determine. What distances do you usally shoot on running pigs? Which scope magnification do you use? Like your videos very much. All the best for you.
