Wow, The Left Banke lost 2 band members in the same year. I remember them from 'Walk Away Renee' and how they were one of Tom Scholz's (Boston) favorite groups growing up. You can hear him subsconsciously borrowing from 'Walk Away Renee' in 'More Than A Feeling'. He had no idea he'd done it until someone pointed it out to him in an interview over a decade ago!

@Axess-sv8nq4 жыл бұрын
@@geraldobrien7323 And the VERY beginning of the song. Listen to that descending line and then listen to More Than A Feeling at the end of every chorus before it goes into the next verse. Same descending line.
@geraldobrien73234 жыл бұрын
@@Axess-sv8nq Sorry I never heard it because the ascending bass line in the beginning is different from the one after the first chorus, and even though the bass line at the end of the first chorus is like Walk Away Renee, it’s in a different key, and it’s working off the flat 7th and the 4th chord, like the verses. With the Left Bank, the chords are 4, 1, 5, 1. Different feelings (excuse my pun), which is why Tom Scholz never really recognized it as a copy. Sorry to nitpick.

A nice tribute and a great choice of background music. As a senior who grew up devouring every bit of info on every record album and inner sleeve, I am a little more sad to see some of these folks on here since the music they made played a big part in my life's transitioning to teen, and then to young adult back in the day. Guys like Jamie Oldaker, Pete Carr, and Lucky Peterson come to mind. Of course I know all the more famous people we lost... Bucky Pizarelli, Lee Kerslake & Ken Hensley (passed on my birthday no less) Spencer Davis, Peter Green (hits closest to home) but your tribute reminds me that the not-so-well knowns had their own impact on our lives, even if we may not realize it. Good Health and a Happy New Year to you and the family Brad.

Wooooow. This is the best Eulogistic presentation that I've EVER seen. So many ARTISTS and many of them that I would never had heard of otherwise...otherwise, period. It was also depressing as I did the math during pauses after reading the stories... I'm 54 now...My Mom has 19 and my Dad has 23 on me. Time is fast and compressing faster. I texted a screenshot of Viola telling of ALL of the greatest drummers that I could think of and all of them were dead before her including Neil...maybe not Ginger or Mitch just yet...even Vinnie Paul has been lifted away for a few years. God Bless You and your family Brad.

Kenny Rogers, Neil Peart, Van Halen, Eric Weissberg, John Prine, Little Richard, Morricone, Charlie Daniels... We lost some icons and some people who simply made iconic music this year. Losing Daniels and Van Halen were both quintessential American music icons. Losing them alone means losing two guys who were instrumental in forever changing their respective fields and genres. Then there’s Wiessberg and Morricone-two guys who were responsible for the music in arguably two of the most familiar pieces of music in film. 2020 has just been kind of a morherfucker, man.
