Bishop EC Reems planted into my life during college. We were a group of collegr kids from NC in the Bay Area to sell books. God sent me to Center of Hope to find housing for three of us. Blessed to find shelter with a member, Center of Hope became a powder keg. Shut-in prayer, early morning prayer, feeding the community prayer. Bishop Reems, always soft like a dove, wise as a serpent and can preach like go tell it on the mountain. What a life of service. On loan from heaven now back home. Well done, well done.

I was in my late teens in 1966 when Evangelist Reems as she was known back then, came down to the Monterey Peninsula to run a revival, we piled in my car and made our way to see her rather than go to a football game on Friday night and the church was packed with young people, we loved her, she was in her early 30s then. Walter Hawkins 17 then accompanied her on the organ......We had church

Pastor Reems has left a phenomenal legacy. Despite her father, the late Bishop E.E. Cleveland being committed to the Pentecostal tradition that women could not be preachers; she left COGIC and followed the call of God. Many people (women) talked about her and doomed her a heretic. And she went on. I remember her church on 98th Avenue - plenty of good word and worship. The Voices of Christ regularly had concerts there, with many of gospels greatest; The Tommies, James Cleveland; BC&S! I have so much respect for her and her journey.

I've been reading a little bit about Bishop Ernestine Reems, and I was delighted to learn that the meager resources of her childhood in Oklahoma and yet later in California did not prevent her from doing God's will. His devotion to the kingdom of God stunned me. Admirable person, minister of the Lord Jesus on earth. Just like your father! My sincere feelings to the family members who are now experiencing the pain of grief. Rest in deep peace dear servant of God !! I'm from Sao Paulo / Brazil Happy New Year y'all! God bless United States Of America!🙌😇

I am comforted in knowing that THIS woman of God is home with the Lord. She has brought thousands of souls to christ. I thank God for my Mama bringing us up in Center of Hope. My Mama wanted a church that catered to the young people and this was that church. I recall our Daniels Den nights, the skate nights, church picnics and a plethora of other things for the younger people and teens. Our youth choir and young adult choir was the best! I told Bishop that I was moving away, she told me I'm a forever member. When my Mama came, her siblings followed as well as my Grandmother who was the church mother, back in 1988. Needless to say, I have too many fond memories of my church family who shaped me to be the woman I am today.

Condolences to her family. Did not know her. I recall seeing her in TBN with Andrea Crouch and also with T.D. Jakes. If I recall correctly one night with Edwin Hawkins his siblings and Tramaine on TBN. She had a powerful ministry. May her legacy live on through the lives she touched

Why come on debating about a title. Some of us actually knew her. She loved God and was not playing church. She went through a lot. There is no way you can stand under that kind of criticism and pressure except God be with you.....we all will stand before God for ourselves make sure your life is hidden in Christ Jesus.

That was our pastors' granddaughter. I remember as a child and pre-teen going to her church with my father, he used to drive the church vans transport various church members to and from the various church revivals and conventions they used to have on an off and basis.

We can't pick and choose what parts of the scriptures we want to follow and believe........ God never called a woman preacher.. and he told the women to be quiet in all the churches........he must be the husband of 1 wife......the scriptures say a woman of God is quiet secret private meek decreet submissive etc....... preaching is for the Men ONLY.... scripture don't change for NOBODY!!
@healedaries46442 жыл бұрын
Life changed the scripture in her case… Bishop Reems preached, taught the word and raised churches across the U.S. She took care of her community; and she allowed God to use her to bring many into knowledgeable and productive relationships with God. On an academic level.. you might want to read beyond King James and into the hermeneutics of Sacred Text.. why did King James create a “Bible,” why didn’t he include the woman who were preachers, why didn’t he include the tribes of color? God bless your understanding of God and Gods people.
