when you watch a parent in their last days, it doesn't matter what happened in the past, that is the most heartfelt pain, knowing you have to say your last goodbye and hearing their voice, Rest In paradise, Papa Joe.( Don't Cry For Me) would be the perfect song for joe homecoming, Don't cry for me, Don't shed a tear, The time I shared with you will always be, And when I am gone please carry on .

Plus I think it's not completely fair to judge how the man raised his kids for 1 because none of us were there in that house at those rehearsals and behind the scenes at those live shows so we really don't know the whole story I mean we can speculate amongest ourselves pasted off of what the brothers have said but once again none of us were there and also Idk about you but I don't have any children let alone 9 children so I can't imagine both the financial and physical stress that raising 9 kids creates so I have no right to judge and nither does anyone else unless you were there throughout there childhood which is very unlikely considering how tightly woven there family was back in the day.

@@AngelicZelda444 hes right, literally every black family in the sixties spanked their children, why would Joe b an exception? im sure oprahs own father spanked the sht out of her.. a father should always have a sort of authority and be strict if not then he'll lose control..mj couldve easily turned to gangs and drugs back then but his father wanted the best for his children, beside music his children had great education, joe made sure they never skipped a class or a homework he was dedicated to his family in a time where a lot of black dads didnt stay with their children n left them on their own with their moms...i know it looks so strange to ppl in 2020 where mothers have 5 kids from 5 babydaddies but theres like 50 yrs of difference n times werent the same...right now its ok to beat up ur own mother or tell her "cash me ousside" n kids r allowed to many things their parents didnt have access to in their age.. Joe spanked his children yes, the media twisted what mj said in their own way n since fans love mj blindly they felt bad about their idol..

Shows you how sick the world still is. A man who beat and sexually abused his wife, sons and daughters gets a tribute. All his kids are psychologically messed up, especially the ones he could make the most money from. Michael lived like an eight-year-old boy trying to look like a white woman, eventually dying ten years before and forty years younger than his father. All these celebrities who die young are haunted by their childhoods until they can run no more. May Joe Jackson take his proper place in Hell and burn for all eternity.

You're assuming they aren't and "aggressive discipline" is what leads many kids go into an early grave. Just this week a 10 year old boy was beaten to death by his step-dad who probably thought he was "disciplining" him.

Michael was my icon growing up. But the things that many sources, even him, claimed sounded a lot more extreme like when the stuff came up about his father beating the kids with sticks, or when even worse if one key was out of tune, he would punish them, harshly! That sent chills. Albeit, it was a way to make sure they were disciplined off the streets because some of us today don't know what it's like living in dangerous areas. I listened to Michael's music when I was young and still enjoy it to this day. My heart goes out to him. I just focus on Michael solely because he is an icon and that's it. RIP

R.I.P JOE JACKSON🙏🙏..This is one father that will be remembered for many things, more importantly he was a black father who didn't allow his sons to go astray and become delinquents or another statistic of what America likes to see black men as...for that I applaud you💯 JOE...the tough hand and abuse he gave them I won't condemn neither cause they were his sons and they needed love but at the time, their success and everything that came with it was something he and them can only dream about and he wasn't letting nothing spoil that so he had to be stern and make sure things were in order...I myself was upset on how he went about things especially with MICHAEL, it affected him greatly, but joe was raised a certain way and he must passed it down to his kids so again I can't knock him, if there were more JOE JACKSON'S in the world a huge portion of youth nowadays will have respect for authority, have their pants up, and won't get caught up with the traps laye d out for us......THANK YOU JOE for giving us the FIRST FAMILY OF MUSIC, SOUND OF YOUNG AMERICA, MICHAEL, JANET& THE CLAN🙏🙏👏👏👏
