Actually, this happened to me and my family in 2007 Air India Chennai to Singapore, we landed back in Chennai. Technical error, nose gear error, dumped all gear fuel on sea and landed with lot of precautions (fire engines were around). Literally felt like history is repeating itself. We thought we all would die, but when we landed we thanked god. Our pilot name is Hema.

Was it a belly landing? Gods grace landing gears are not gone inside. Real danger araise only if landing gears not coming out and uncertain about it's position due to hydraulic failure. Ofcourse we've to appreciate that pilot for not panicking the passengers until landing.

Hi guys, I live in Dubai and I’m from Thanjavur. I usually travel on Air India Express from Trichy airport to the UAE (Dubai, Sharjah, and Abu Dhabi). We don’t have the option to choose another flight because Air India Express is the only direct flight available to the UAE from Trichy. If only one flight is available, there’s definitely a chance for price hikes, lethargy, and safety issues because they know very well more than 10 districts like Thanjavur, Karur, Namakkal, Salem, Kallakurichi, Ariyalur, Perambalur, Cuddalore, Mayiladurai, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Pudukkottai, etc., depend on them. Those people don’t have a choice to choose another airline because Air India has a monopoly at Trichy airport and few years before multiple airlines are available particularly INDIGO has the regular service Trz to Dubai direct flight but what happened now…If you guys have a doubts, please compare the prices between Trichy to Dubai and Chennai to Dubai direct flights.

Hi Madan,Thanks for a great compilation of the video.well done.As a flight nurse I had a similar experience twice…we couldn’t land once even after three approaches when I was trying to pick a patient from remote part of New Zealand and other one is lightening strike in one of the engines of the air ambulance flight when we travelling from South Island to north island.i had a patient on board and I have to pretend very normal.As a professional pretending normal is most worst adrenaline rush…Hats-off to those pilot’s on belly landing… 🥝💕

no need to worry because the tire is not retracted so safe landing is possible only reason is to reduce weight by do a holding pattern to burn the fuel while in air. less fuel less maximum landing weight hence no internal damage to structure. even if crash landed the flame is controllable by fire fighter. Heavy landing cause airframe damage, runway overrun, brake failure and more. they didn't do a belly landing and no need for belly landing because the landing gear is still deployed. what media potray is misinformation.

Explained better than most news channels and other KZbin channels who were just making it sensational and spreading false info. For a situation where the landing gear is not being able to extend, commercial aircrafts have Landing Gear Manual Extension which can be used by the pilots to extend the gears and keep it downlocked. So, in yesterday's situation, the gear was already down and locked and they weren't able to retract. So, there was absolutely nothing to worry about. It was just another failure and it would have been a safe landing no matter what or at whichever part of the world this incident happened.

Great work by the Pilot and the crew members of the flight. The way they handled the technical problem is unimaginable. Most importantly they didnot inform passengers that the flight under big issue.If the same known to anybody all passengers might be panic and all will be shouting of fear even after pilot also became panic.
