Glad to see you back, i enjoy your footage. Im probably going to grab a destroyed Mauser and cit the barrel down to 16 inches and make it look like one of those Belgium shorties

What code did you get on the k98? I ordered a k98 with bolt and they sent me one without 😅. Customer service fixed the issue tho. I like that Carcano I think gotta get one!

Did you get a good one? I want to get one with the bolt as well but they look beat.

@@richardcush9161it’s was ok. It had a flat butplate style stock with take down hole in the stock instead of on the buttplate. I did get the swp45 code I wanted but it was very beat up. They offered to send a bolt or take a return because they didn’t send one with a bolt. I opted for the return and then I paid extra to change my order to an individual listing they had. A 1943 dot with the coin and winter trigger. Unfortunately they sold that one even after I paid for it. lol. So Uli hooked me up with a very nice one with a lion crest. I think they had it listed for over a grand. I haven’t inspected it in person yet still at my FFL but the pics looked great. I was ok with that because I already purchased one of the czech mausers years ago.

@@SimonLArnold interesting. Doesn't sound too bad and sounds like you got something nicer for the replacement. I'm not afraid of repairs as I've fixed up a yugo k98 with a pretty crack stock and recoil lug was lose. Some brass dowels and acrglas fixed it up. Not really worried about finish as most stuff from Ethiopia is trash. Really just care about markings, stock, and bore condition. I figured you can't go wrong with a 400 k98 for a fun project.

@@richardcush9161like you said tho hard to get a decent priced k98 bolt. That was the same thinking I went through on why I bought the one with. At that point tho I figured might as well pay a bit more for condition lol they got me but whatever this one coming I’m wondering might be one of the reworks from James river. The condition looked that good. I’ll have to start doing videos like this… but yea I have a bunch of b grade stuff I want to practice rust bluing.

@SimonLArnold it's also a great gun to practice bluing, repair, etc. Since it's already destroyed
