The fact that the parents would do such a thing is heartbreaking, and its made even worse from the fact that the movie takes place during a time period where mental illness wasn't as well understood as it is today and they probably thought this was the only solution. I actually started crying when the kid with the dracula mask started to say he wanted to go home. How he sounds so scared in the unfortunate circumstance that he is in and how he just wants to go back to the comforts of home and maybe his parents.

It's just heartbreaking that their parents paid the driver to shackle them up in the bus. It's even worse that they're mentally disabled so they don't really understand what's going on. I don't think they deserved a painful death like that, especially being betrayed by their own parents. It's sad enough that they had to grow up with a mental illness. I think they're better off not knowing that their parents wanted them dead, because that would be even more traumatic.

What makes this scene so sad, is that, unfortunately, it's realistic. Some people think those who disabled are "a nuisance" or "a burden" and we would be better off without them. I had a classmate in college give a speech about why he thought the world would be better if we just killed off disabled people. I was glaring at him the whole time and it took every ounce of self control I had not to get up and punch him in front of the whole class. Thoughts like that are just selfish, sick, and evil! I just watched for the first time and yes this scene messed me up bad. But I was proud of the kid in the vampire costume because he figured out what was going on, broke free, and tried to save all his friends but unfortunately failed. It was incredibly cathartic to see them all kill the bus driver at the end.

Reminds me of the bus trips some of us had to take to other places. We weren't told where we were going, but just get on the bus. Kids like myself who had disabilities but also the troubled kids..the ones who were written up as having behavioral problems and the school needed to do something about them rather than just stick us in an unused classroom next to the janitor's closet. Mind you, this was early 2000's where helping kids who were abused or had problems wasn't a big priority whatsoever..at least that's how it was where I was because I would tell teachers that I was being abused and they ignored it. You're punished for being a "bad kid" but no one asked you why you were acting out; you were just punished and blamed. The places we would go were other places where we were told to sit down and be quiet..like, big open floor buildings with seats and nothing else. No learning, no stimulation, just sit there and don't say a word. If you did, you would get yelled at for speaking. Stay there for 2 hours and be driven back to the school. I'm not sure why we were there and no one in charge told us why we were taken out and treated like that. Bus driver never talked to us, never said hello or looked at us. The whole thing made you feel like you're a bad kid and you don't deserve a second chance to learn or be a part of the school.

There was a case here in Miami last year. A mother plotted the death of her son that was mentally disabled, I don’t remember many details so don’t take what I say word for word factual, she basically attempted drowning him twice by pushing him into a lake or canal. The first time bystanders saw and saved the boy but then she did it again later when no one was there... she lied to the police and told them that he was kidnapped outside of a Home Depot I think but from the beginning it was shady and we all knew(family and friends) she was suspect. Basically the cops figured it out I’m not sure if she confessed to them and that’s how they found out or because the security tapes didn’t match her story. I remember feeling so sorry for the little boy and so sick at the same time. How would a mother do this to her child. 🙏🏽😭😭

An every man or women that does what this bus driver did hell does not have a grave big enough for you to burn in agony. Bless each little soul with love an protect them from this world

I can see a separate movie right here, where this happened and cos the Dracula kid slipped out of his shackles he unknowingly survived and years later he comes back to find and hunt down everyone who had anything to do with what happened. Also separate note: what was Kreegs plan if Dracula kid hadn't escaped his chains?
