That's so awful, Halloween should be every child's favorite holiday next to Christmas. I was fortunate enough to grow up on an Air Force base in Nebraska. You had to be married and have children to get a home on base. So every house in our neighborhood had kids and gave out candy. The streets would be so packed with trick or treaters you can forget about driving. We had to use pillow cases cuz the plastic tubs weren't big enough to hold our loot of candy. I miss the 90s, so freaking much...

Sleeping pills on top of a situation that heavily sounds like alcohol was also involved. You're either extremely dumb or a sociopath if you think doing that to your friend is anywhere near ok. I have a story about drug candy. I was 17 and deemed myself too old for trick or treating so I just took care of decor and hand outs instead. It was fun and at some point, this guy who seemed to be my age approached with his little sister. I went through the routine but then the guy winked at me and handed me a medium size bag of candy bars. He walked off and I had assumed he was being flirty. Which was shocking cause I was not a looker in HS lmao and I was wearing an ugly zombie costume. Anyway, after I got tired and left the bowl out at the end of the night, I was eating the leftover candy and decided to eat one of the bars he gave me. It was a snickers bar but I noticed the wrapper looked odd. It was different coloring on the label and if I remembered, felt like a paper wrapper instead of the usual foil/plastic wrap. Now, me being a dumb 17 year old who was quite gluttonous, I shrugged and just ate it thinking it looked different cause it was a special wrapping for Halloween. It tasted off but okay overall. Again, didn’t fucking question it and chalked it up to being a different flavor or expired (my fat ass didn’t give a shit about eating old candy) Cut to an hour later, I’m laying face down on the carpet and giggling like a goddam psychopath. I’m whoozy and feeling FANTASTIC but also borderline delirious. It was hell and heaven at the same time. Luckily, by this point, my dumbass finally puts 2 and 2 together. I ate an edible. And since it was a full bar, I was unbelievably high. Thank the lord I didn’t eat more of those bars. Around 11 at night, my dad calls me down and there’s someone at the door. It’s the teen, looking quite sheepish. Turns out, he had gotten the address wrong for a delivery. I’m not a narc so I returned the bag. I also told him I ate one and paid for it to make up for it. He seemed fine with it and I didn’t mine forking over twenty bucks. Then I went to bed and woke up the next day groggy as shit. So kids, don’t except bags of candy from some guy you don’t know. You’d think that would be obvious but I am living proof it isn’t to some people. Happy Halloween

I talked to my mom about this recently, but I guess I never told her as a kid. I was elementary age, when my mom and my friend's mom took us trick or treating. There was one house that lives rent free in my mind remembering Halloween as a kid. It was some guys house in town, and he had the weirdest "Halloween" decorations in his yard. I remember there being Christmas lights, and a light up yard Santa (????) with a potato sack like bag tied on to it's back (even tho Santa was already holding his red bag on the yard figure) filled with..... something, along with normal toys hung about and tied around his yard (definitely was the spookiest house that night). There was a path that we had to follow to his window, where he sat in a chair from the inside giving out candy. When my friend and I said our "trick or treats" HE TOOK A COUPLE PICTURES OF US, gave us candy, and sent us on to the next house. I think he was doing this with every kid who stopped by his house that night. My mom was horrified.

Ronald O'Bryan is a monster as his brother-in-law and sister in-law testified that on his son’s funeral he kept talking about using the money from Timothy's insurance policy to take a long vacation and buy other items. And his wife also said Robert actually forced his kids to pick the pixie stick and made sure it was the only candy they ate before bed. And the boy basically reacted to the poison candy quickly and died on the way to the hospital in horrible pain as Timothy consumed enough cyanide to kill two full grown adults, while the other four candies contained enough to kill three to four adults. Another child also almost ate his but fortunately give up trying to open the candy as it was stapled closed and fell asleep with the candy in his hand when his parents rush upstairs to check up on him after the police notify the parents of the cyanide laced candy. Robert was also deeply despise and shunned by his fellow death row inmates and was "absolutely friendless" according to a Reverend of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. The inmates reportedly petitioned to hold an organized demonstration on Robert's execution date to express their hatred of him. Then after his execution getting rescheduled like four times, the third time it was rescheduled the judge, Michael McSpadden, scheduled it on October 31, 1982, the eighth anniversary of the crime, and he offered to personally drive Robert to the death chamber, but The Supreme Court delayed the date yet again. He was finally executed on March 31, 1984 by lethal injection (not electric chair) shortly after midnight. Outside the building where he was being execute, a crowd of 300 demonstrators gathered outside the prison cheered while some yelled, "Trick or treat!”, Others showered anti-death penalty demonstrators with candy, and I think some threw candy at the building too. His last words were a speech about his killing would be wrong to carry out. Here’s his speech: “What is about to transpire in a few moments is wrong! However, we as human beings do make mistakes and errors. This execution is one of those wrongs yet doesn’t mean our whole system of justice is wrong. Therefore, I would forgive all who have taken part in any way in my death. Also, to anyone I have offended in any way during my 39 years, I pray and ask your forgiveness, just as I forgive anyone who offended me in any way. And I pray and ask God's forgiveness for all of us respectively as human beings. To my loved ones, I extend my undying love. To those close to me, know in your hearts I love you one and all. God bless you all and may God’s best blessings be always yours. Ronald C. O'Bryan P.S. During my time here, I have been treated well by all T.D.C. personnel.”

Nope. Covid certainly didn’t help. But I’ve noticed a steep decline in Trick or Treating all the way back in the early 2000s even.

I remember going trick or treating with my large group of friends back during quarantine. We spent the whole night trick or treating and stopped at some point to go grab a bite to eat from Sonic. We had a friend already there who had already ordered a meal, and he said really loudly, "Do you guys wanna watch me speedrun this burger?" And we all said "yeah" so he started chowing down and we were all chanting and cheering him on, but the all the sudden a Karen in her car at the sonics drive through started berating us for "making fun of him" which we weren't. Then the legend who had just finished that burger that very moment stood up and started yelling back at that Karen, and it came out of nowhere. Eventually that Karen just left, and we were all dying laughing. That was my best halloween.

In my neighborhood the last 2 years ive taken my little nephew there's been like 3 or 4 houses that have candy but also have "adult treats" i took a shot the first time i saw them cause thats awesome ive never seen that before. Those houses are people who are considerate of the adults too and i can respect that

Covid killed it imo. The myths of needles and razors were around when I was a kid but no one cared. We just checked it.

My buddy passed out at his birthday party. We went easy. Filled all his pockets with marshmallows and set his desktop background to meatspin. We'll his dumbass doesn't empty pocket before laundry. So he ruined a lot of clothes lol

In my childhood neighborhood, an old lady gave out a toothbrush and a full sized toothpaste to kids for halloween one year. She had like two buckets filled with toothbrushes and toothpaste. The next day her yard was trashed with toilet paper and eggs. Her pumpkins were smashed too. I don’t think the older kids appreciated her toothbrush stunt 😂 😅

Hunter, you truly have a phenomenal talent to mispronounce basic words. Keep it up, I haven’t laughed this hard in years.

I'd like to disagree with "there are no trick or treaters", because my street is always filled with kids on Halloween.
