In the 90s we had a Swedish version of this magazine that bought the stories from WWN so as a kid I read a lot of these stories. And because I was a kid bat boy scared the shit out of me because I didnt know it was fake.

I was surprised he went with the mayhem story to start a conversation about metal. Which honestly I’m really glad he did. I do love the stories of bands and singers up bringing from drugs and alcohol and being better but mayhems fucked up story was my first introduction to the that band specifically that didn’t go through any drugs or alcohol. If that makes sense?

I actually have this fragmented memory of being on a subway car and getting off with my mom and looking up at the ceiling, which I thought was really high up, and just feeling confused why I wasn't outside yet when the trains I knew/played with were always outside. It's like 8 seconds of actual memory but that's it. Also like two more memory clips of a zoo and central park. And my grandparents showing up to my third birthday and the hallway they came in had the lights off. All super fragmented but, I'm being honest.
