Getting these rubber hoses disconnected while working on your car engine can be a real challenge. After years of experience trying just about everything, I found that using a flat head screwdriver and a pick to separate the rubber from the metal works. Also a pair of pliers twisting back and forth often breaks the rubber free. Sometimes a hose comes right off but usually not. Hope you found these techniques useful.
