The will Alfred Nobel made in 1895 was inspired by belief in the community of man. The Peace Prize was to be awarded to the person who had done most for "fraternity between nations, for the abolition or reduction of standing armies and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses".😉

Wow, I just explained this exact procedure in the comments to another video showing how to disconnect these fittings. But this guy is exactly correct. Sir, I hope many others find this video and save much frustration. Thank you.
@jeffro221 Жыл бұрын
Great video! Excellent explanation. I used to fight these "quick disconnect" fittings until I learned this detail you showed, to drive them toward each other to "unload" the little barbs a little to gap them away from the lip (shoulder) of the male side, then insert the tool to "flatten" out the barbs, making clearnace so the lip on the male side can then clear the barbs and separate the two as you pull them apart. This video will help a lot of people.

Good tip! Another one is once you have the tool on the line you can wrap the part that slides in the fitting with a few layers of electric tape making its diameter slightly larger. That little extra will help push the tabs further in. I struggled with one for hours pushing as hard as i could and once I wrapped it with tape it popped right off.

Nick, many thanks for this tip. I was fighting with a fuel tank connector and it was winning. Searched YT, say your video, followed your lead, and when the first connector came out, I literally said to my self "What happened?" Success, is what happened! Second connector, same as the first. Got the fuel pump module loose, then it hit me, the smell, it was rancid. Rust in the sock, rust in the tank, and this rust colored blob on the bottom of the fuel tank. I'm getting a new tank, should be a sight easier going back since it will be empty. Thanks again.

I know this is 2 years old BUT,,,,,, my 1995 f150 rear tank fuel pump large line would not come off. I actually tried for one week to get it off but it would not... watched this video and realized it was stuck and would not move, I got rough with a pair of channel locks and got the female to move, forced in the metal tool and pulled it free. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU

Clear and concise explanation of what should be a very simple procedure, thank you! It’s all about the details when you’re explaining how to do something and you nailed it. I just replaced the Flex-Fuel sensor on my 2000 Chevy S10 only I didn’t have one of those nice release tools (gonna get one though). I used two small screwdrivers and I managed to get both hoses off without ruining the locking rings but it would’ve been a helluvalot easier with the tool. Great video, thank you sir!

Great advice! When I was originally disassembling my car for the first time it seriously took me hours to get them disconnected. I feel like I remember doing this same trick but it seems like either there wasn’t enough slack in the female like or I couldn’t get to it because it was very difficult to reach.
@jonsquatch2 жыл бұрын
Just in case anyone else comes across this, if the system is pressurized its hard to slide it forward. Many ways to de-pressurize the rail, but an easy one that works on most GM trucks is to take the cap of the pressure test port on the other side of the fuel rail and depress the schrader valve (like a tire valve stem) to relieve the pressure.

After looking at that video I made my own tool I did a MacGyver and took a Sharpie Top the cap cut it in half and if you needed to put it over it wrap a couple wraps of electrical tape around it if needed to make it thicker and push it in like your putting on about 1/8 of inch then pull back while your pushing the Sharpe cap the same way worked great for me and no cost
