Because colligative property depends on the number of molecules or ions. For association or dissociation, the number of particles changes. so we have to consider the number of particles after dissociation or association.Example: Nacl dissociates 100% in water Nacl-Na+ + cl- 1mol. 2mol (Before)(after) I hope you get the point
