Komali Mam wait. How do you decide the major product???? You wrote four products in the first cross aldol condensation example. But in the second question you only wrote one major product when there can be two. What about the product when two of the 2nd reactant react with each other?

When both the compounds has alpha hydrogens it gives 4 different products and if only one of the compound has alpha hydrogens it gives 2 diff products...🔥🔥🔥🔥

If both reactants have "α" H then it gives 4 compounds because the key is to remove " H² " from one of the reactants and "O" from the other If both compounds have "α" H then it will remove "O" from one of the reactant and "H²" from another reactant i.e 4 cases If 1. Reactant A (O)+ Reactant B (H²) 2. Reactant A (O)+ Reactant A (H²) 3. Reactant B (O)+ Reactant B (H²) 4. Reactant B (O)+ Reactant A (H²) as both has A and B reactants has α Hydrogens thus H can be removed 4 times differently . If only one of the reactants has " α " H then only 2 products because it will get " α " H from one of the reactants only i.e. say if Only A has "α" H then 1. Reactant A (O)+ Reactant B (H²) ✖️ 2. Reactant A (O)+ Reactant A (H²)✔️ 3. Reactant B (O)+ Reactant B (H²)✖️ 4. Reactant B (O)+ Reactant A (H²)✔️ Out of 4 cases only 2 cases as H² is taken out from the second reactant always and we have "α " H only in reactant "A" as assumed earlier Hope you get it 😭

I kept my expectations on ground and thought maybe I will get 3-4k ACPC rank, damn I was SO happy on that day. Got admission in the college I wanted when I was in 10th (although not the college science students dream of and stress so much over it, but it was what I wished when I was not in the race for IITs and NITs, but still one of the top 5 in GJ) and in TFWS seat ( no fees for me yay! ). I’m grateful and my parents are proud of me. Important phase of life, but not that much that people make of it in our society. 🙏🏼
