I agree with Trick all day! When your in the music business, indie or major your "world" is everyone who support the Music of yor city. I know cause I grew up in Buffalo's hiphop scene and its like that. Every city has a hiphop scene full of talent and the dedicated supporters in radio and in the streets and there are rules of respect and support between artists, local radio, and promoters. One of the rules for example is the support of giving local talent a chance to shine cause they bring new fans as well as act as cheap promotion. On a smaller level we "Trade" shows with neighboring city's musicians to increase each other's fanbase. You have to support the locals or "your" fans will leave, trust I know. Trick's "No fly zone" is not new. In Buffalo our radio stations, club promoters and fans have stopped messing with at different times in the past, Mase, Jim Jones ( who actually began working with blo artists in music and in the streets later on) and Bone thugs. Trick can't stop anyone from coming to Detroit or make money there but as a well respected "Detroit" MC in the "world of Detroit Hiphop" his message, connections and influence CAN stop him from making "Rap" money in the D

I'm not sure if I support the no fly zone concept or not. On one hand I see what he means about building relationships and showing love to the OGs in the city. For example, Ross coulda hit Trick up before the show and said "yo this Rozay, I'm in town let me know if you need anything from the boss Ricky Rozay" something like that lol. Then Trick probably would've said "let Charli B open up for you" or "stop by my club after the show I got some bottles for you." Simple. And then Trick woulda did the same going to Miami. On the other hand, that'll get tedious doing that for every single city. And after awhile it probably would become extortion. But I think it's worth it to protect your life and your bread.

To an Extent I agree with him on his respect earning and having people in Detroit get a Shot. HOWEVER. Making comments like you did about J.Cole and numerous other Black Artists is uncalled for.. A "NO FLY ZONE" is a bad idea....if 5,000 people gather in a building to see Rick Ross then thats a great ideal situation for a local rapper to go around and promote or sell his CD....example $6 x 2000 people is $12,000 in one night for that local rapper tax free....or a great opportunity for a person to walk around and sell candy or hotdogs or alcohol or clothing or anything because you have an abundance of 5,000 people to pitch your sales to....thats the whole point of getting celebrities to come to concerts because every local hustler will have access to hundreds or thousands of people all in one spot to sell something to....EVERYONE EATS....when lebron James left Cleveland more then a billion dollars left the city and many areas became dry... so from a business perspective a "NO FLY ZONE" hurts the local rapper and local hustler thats trying to get a piece of the pie....a NO FLY ZONE on celebrities that can bring big traffic into a building or area means no customers which means NO EATING for the small guy thats trying to feed his family through selling food or clothing or thats trying to get his name out there in the music world
