Liked the video Antony. The Vibram Londra sole has been gaining popularity. It's up there with the ridgeway sole from the sound of it. Bee-yu-ti-full

Seems like it will be at least as good

That looks like my Tricker's Stow on the right, with a worn out Commando to orange Dainite conversion. It also looks like Paul got hold of some bright red options for my Lollipop Red Eatons, too. I'll be in on Saturday to have a look.

Yes they are your boots and soles, they were looking great, but not quite finished when we filmed this.

Great idea if you need sole and heal replacements but not a brand new pair of Trickers!
@chrisp333016 күн бұрын
Just depends - trickers factory outlet online had these at £375 - 20% for Halloween and Black Friday recently making them £300. Full price is £595 so, if it's a Stow with a particular sole you want it works out a lot cheaper doing it this way rather than paying full price for the sole you want from factory and you get your 'perfect boot'.

@ Worth every penny in that case.

It was the grain muflone ones that we had in a video a few weeks ago that they were selling off at that price, not these, but yes if you happen to like that it’s perfect scenario.

My old Trickers Henry boots, were all leather, leather heels and soles, I've just replaced with Ridgeway unit, wore them today for the first time since replacement, feel fantastic, and makes them more versatile for all weather conditions, whereas the leather, it had to be dry.

Looks great doesn’t it?

I reckon the Olive green would look cool on those, especially if you put light edges on them the same as you did on my Henry's - it really elevates the Trickers boots in my opinion. I'm liking the look of those Vibram Londra soles, it'll be interesting to get feedback when the customer has worn them a while on durability/grip etc...

Yes would look good, will try to do a follow up down the line.

Can you still get Itside commando soles and heels? Or what is a hardwearing replacement for them. For my loake hiker boots that i walk about 50 miles a week in? Cheers.

I would have to check with Paul on Friday, in this video recently he had gone to the Dainite commando Split Leather Uppers on Trickers Stow English Boots / Dainite New Commando Sole | Boot Repair kzbin.info/www/bejne/eJ24mpd-Ysqml7c but he may have itshide in other sizes or can get.
@shoehealer885315 күн бұрын
I spoke to Paul and the company who made Itshide are no longer in business, but he still has some heels left, and maybe some odd sizes. The two he is using now are either Dainite or Corinium, any of these would be great for you they all basically look the same really, when the time comes if it’s something specific you want, ask and he will try to get it for you. I am putting a quick video out later and near the end of it there is some M&S boots with a itshide heel and Dainite sole,I’m sure you would be happy with that it looks great.

@@shoehealer8853 Thank you for the information, much appreciated. I could be mistaken but i thought that the dainite heels didn't last as long as the original heels on the loake hikers, the originals looked like itside but were not marked itside. obviously longevity is important when you walk alot of miles. I have itside on at the moment. In nearly three years I have had - the original heels, then Dainite heels and now itside heels, all commando pattern.

Everyone's preferences are different. I prefer leather-soled shoes, which are more traditional. Leather soles breathe, while rubber soles don't.

I’ve the ridgeway on my Loakes. Don’t find them that safe. They don’t provide much grip on wet pavements

Isn’t it a Victory sole?
@chrisp333017 күн бұрын
@@dsdf_fdp1858 The Victory's I have aint soft mate - they're rock hard, which makes it not too good on wet yorkstone etc... The big upside is they don't wear very quick. I've done hundreds of miles in my Loakes with Victory and they are hardly worn. When Antony spruced the edges up for me a while back he thought they were nearly new soles! Overall, I find them a good sole 90% of the time.
