Aesc aka Tonelico, Aka Big Hat Morgan is an interesting choice for our Anni 8 servant. She has a very unique kit including a never before seen skill that begins on cooldown! As such she's a bit tricky to wield. In this Complete analysis we'll go over our newest fae caster and talk all about her magical prowess, the ways you can 3 turn with her or use her in multi-dps hybrid setups, and of course her damage potential! Also as a special bonus I included two demonstrations at the end of the video!

I gotta admit I had a hard time working out all the possibilities for this one in my head, so I totally understand if people struggle with the cooldown timing and kit at first. Big Hat Morgan is a great unit nonetheless. Whether or not you need her though comes down to how your roster of AoE casters is fairing. Still I suspect people will roll her purely for love of the design. What do you think about Tonelico as a unit and as our Anniversary Pick? Seems a bit worse than NP4-5 Cu Caster BUT! This doesn't take into account that you are guaranteed at least one Oberon NP (two if event CE has ignore invinc) AND her kit is really strong for CQ scenarios (while Cu Caster is really selfish).

@@flashmozzg Cu caster is not dual core (2 dps 90++ 3T farming) compatible though. This morgan can work alongside 50% battery ST DPS like kintoki, enkidu, Kama etc.

Certainly an interesting unit, I still am trying very hard to justify her in multi core as she is able to provide the entire team with 50% charge + 20 slow charge, 50% NP damage up and either 20% or 30% atk up depending on if you use light. It is extremely powerful but I also think the limitations is a bit much. Having her skill start at 5 means you will need to pair very specific teammates with her and I don't know if i like a multi core unit that asks for specific multicore teammates. All that being said ig if a servant is getting us thinking and crafting unorthodoxed comps its already a good addition to the game lol.

I personally find Tonelico most useful as a secondary attacker and support, because the amount of buffs she can give is huge for a universal buff and the 50% charge if you can manage it is amazing for enabling comps that weren't possible before Currently my favorite team with her is with Morgan, Tonelico and Castoria + a plugsuit Oberon if you need the damage push. With Morgan being the main attacker and OC provider for Tonelico to use her skill 3, they synergies pretty well and Morgan can hit her highest non-trait damage ceiling in this comp because she can bring Black Grail. Frankly, I'd say as a single unit Tonelico does so much in multiple roles I find that if people focuses on solely one aspect of her, like being a sole main attacker, they aren't utilizing her full capabilities and thus find her underperforming when that's not really the case

On release day I was messing with a bunch of ideas and she should work really well in multicore with the bg varient that gives oc, this allows the other dps to run og bg and gives 2 oberons. Both dps can np on wave 3. Haven't been able to test it personally since I don't have her but it sounds quite good on paper imo.

@@the_only_way7808 Interesting theory. I have her NP1. With Rising Mud, Aesc's first turn damage is pretty trash (42k-ish neutral). And you also have to run 2 non-event ssr CEs. So far it seems hard for me to justify using this comp, but I will test it more.

@@brucewayne3892 yeah, from the perspective of 90++ content if you can hit damage thresholds I still think its worth but it could definitely struggle, especially since I'm pretty sure she has to solo np wave 2. Maybe crits could help but it is probably very node dependent. Also the other dps being able to use bg means they can run any ce, its just a matter of if they have enough damage or not.

It’s been very simple so far among Japanese players. Aesc + KoyanD + X + NYAttire, where X can be anything, is the default setup everybody is using on JP social media, and it’s been extremely popular. People are loving it. 6-slot, no gauge CEs, all utility CEs. X doesn’t need battery so it can just be Bunyan, SMusashi, ST, anything. Aesc uses S3 on Turn-2. It's hype for sure, but - I’m seeing a lot of players say, “I’m not certain about Aesc because she is locked to certain other units and MCs to be fully functional.” It's an understandable perspective. But sure, so are most units. A lot of servants are most functional with Castoria or SSkadi. Others are with KoyanL and Atlas or Plug. Here, Aesc is most operable with KoyanD and Arc and then an appropriate MC. Aesc is locked to units that are different than what the typical player is used to, but the trade off is she gives you the freedom of having a third DPS be completely batteryless. On JP, lots of people have already been accustomed to using KoyanD and Arc for a year now for farming standard FQs and speed farming 90+: as we all know they’re significantly more popular than KoyanL and Oberon for JP in those formats. Aesc is a unit that slots right into the meta that Japanese players have been used to. On top of that, she’s not necessarily locked to multicore Buster either. Since her party buffs are colorless, we’ve seen her tested with servants like S.Ibuki, Tez, Taigong, Caren, etc. as well, sometimes skipping KoyanD. But I also understand Western players roll less and are more focused on having a few high-NP servants rather than having an army of choices. Her value to any one player will therefore depend significantly how well their account can pull off multicore already - if they have the current meta pieces. If your account is mostly focused on singlecore doubleKoyanL or VVOberon, you’ll reasonably be hesitant about Aesc for sure. Aesc is *extremely* potent, but not for everyone. As for 90++, as with most DPS, Aesc’s prevalence will be up to fate. It’ll be less certain. We’ve seen numerically strong units like Kuku be almost completely useless and others like Junao see extremely low use rates. Melusine saw absolutely no use for an entire first year on JP but was then suddenly optimal back to back to back. Aesc is a hybrid gauge support and we’ve seen how powerful that has been with Tez, Arc, Jinako, KoyanD in various 90++. Some of the strong 90++ multicore pieces out there can also boost overcharge in some way. But we will have wait and see if she get to pull off her battery in a full 90++ setup. We can imagine all sorts of possibilities ranging from simply providing anti-evilSE, to bringing other important battery OC-based-SE units to 200% gauge for the final room, or maybe setting up 4 NPs in a minturn. And then of course there is her as single core which seems like just an afterthought at this point compared to the vast possibilities she can enable.

I think an important to note as well is the increasing prevalence, both in farming events as well as general ease of use, for multicore comps in FGO as the game develops. The loop meta that began with Skadi really pushed the singlecore looping mentality to the forefront, understandably, but also because the multicore supports back in Y3 when she came out was nonexistent. But with units like Da Vinci Rider, (Voyager), Tez, Arc, etc. since then, multicore has allowed for much more flexible comp building against nodes that might be annoying for single core (90++ being the prime example). I hope that the 2 year gap between NA and JP will allow NA server to be more familiar and perhaps partial to multicore comps to be better prepared for future contents but that might be wishful thinking.

Not sure if people know about this by now but "Aesc" is pronounced "Ash" in Old English, as in "ash tree" just as "Toneriko" is just another Japanese word for "ash tree"

It's cool how in double Oberon setup she can bring them to 100%. Since Oberon's nuke doesn't stack - you have a free one to spare on another Oberon to bring his 90% NP damage bonus (from double 1st skill + Tonelico's 3rd) to 180% NP damage and 50% buster effectiveness, so in theory, even if you couldn't finish the 3rd wave with Tonelico - you can use Oberon's NP to finish the job. It also makes investing in his NP a bit more valuable, and there's definitely a lot of players who like Oberon to the point of investing in his NP. Really cool stuff I must say.

This is the first servant since the game started I ever felt I wanted to level 120 a unit. Maybe it's because every time I hear her name Tonelico I think about my favorite RPG franchise of all time. Plus her character and design are my favorites in all of fate franchise. Castoria is a hard second though. Gameplay-wise, don't care, if she had a potato kit like Abbey Summer I'd make it work anyway.

Regarding a farming comp that has Tonelico use her NP 3 times, rather than Double Oberon I'd suggest you use: Reines/Castoria/Waver Hikari Koyan Oberon in the Tonelico team once you maxed her Append Skill 2 This setup allows her to use Black Grail as well and can reach higher damage output than that Double Oberon Koyan team

Cu Caster Np5 BBG: Double Vitch Oberon set-up T1: 111,842 T2: 150,106 T3: 373,665 Castoria2 Bunyan CE Np1: Double Vitch Oberon set-up T1: 53,254 T2: 86,785 T3: 236,289 Castoria2 BBG Np1: Double Oberon Vitch T1: 66,385 T2 86,300 T3: 309,797 This is the looping number that Jord (hopefully I got his name right, thanks btw👌) provided, one of Myst Fgo active member. Both using New plug. I think it's really hard to justify her dominance toward regular looping and farming high difficulty node especially 90+ since Caster Cu's damage is much more consistent because of ramping effects of his np... Now the things that would make her outshine Caster Cu, is her potential in 90++ farming node where multicore is the Meta and Cq but even then looking at her kit... It's so unnecessarily restrictive?..I don't really wanna smear her character too much because you know? 90% of the player base mainly roll for waifu purposes but the number just speaks for itself. Hopefully someone can correct me or give me more insight that would be appreciated.

I can't say I'm fond of this new thing they're doing in shoving a Summer unit into an otherwise ordinary unit; Summer Morgan feels so out of place at the end there. On the bright side, the designs are nice, and I like that they tried something creative with that third skill.

I'd only pull her if I have SQ to spare and only cuz she's Aesc (tho to me Aesc is Castoria ascension 2). I dunno if this unit is meant to be paired with another we don't have or used in certain quests we don't know about yet. As it is now, I don't see a single point to pull her baring maybe some weird challenge scenarios. I love Berserker Morgan but it's hard to me to justify spending SQ on this one.

I don't even like Morgan, but she came twice while I was trying to get Barghest on NA (and failed orz), so I kinda feel obligated to roll for her Aesc, and since I managed to get Oberon and Koyanskaya, she would be a fine addition to my roster (since I don't think I have many Buster "loopers" to begin with) The only thing that bothers me is that the are mixing Anniversary Servants with Summer servants, and I don't like that. I usually collect all the 4* summer servants and 5*s that decide to show up, but now this changes my plans if they decide to keep doing this.
